She didn't even bother to ask me before saying I'm not hurt.Okay that's how my so-called mom is.Jacob had an apologetic look before leaving with her.I started going to where my dad was since step-mom went to accompany Jacob.I wonder why she offered to direct him herself,she's not the type to help others voluntarily.However,since dad was quite occupied with greeting the guests and talking with them,I decided to go to my friends after few minutes.He didn't even talk to me but once I saw him observing my dress from the corner of his eyes without getting caught.He was not that disappointed with my choice,I could say from his look.

The event went on for few more hours and most of the time,my glare was on Jacob who was sitting with his family right across our table in the VVIP zone.The whole event was more like a welcome party and if my gut feeling was correct,it was organized to welcome Jacob's dad.After dad's and Mr.Smith's(Jacob's dad's) speech,I found out that they have been living abroad and recently moved to Berkley.He held a higher ranking than my dad and he has been in charge of another company which was situated overseas in Seoul.No wonder why step-mom offered to guide him earlier.
The whole function went pretty well and to my surprise,I wasn't feeling much bored as I've felt before.Maybe it was because I was with these freaking fellows the whole day.I went to bed and suddenly remembered the most marvelous guy I've ever met...I didn't realise that I was falling asleep while thinking of Jacob,who I just met few hours ago...
