Audrey's PoV

I sit here at the table I told her to meet at. The one at the far back of the library amongst several book cases filled with history. The warm cosy feeling in the air is somewhat satisfying when accompanied by the pure silence. It's so silent that I can hear my heart beating uneasily. I'm a little shaky, worried. I don't want her to bring up Sophie. I don't want her to think I'm a villain or a total loser. For once, after three years, I actually want a friend. Only problem is I forgot how to earn one. I don't want to scare her either. I know my tough appearance can deceive many as it has done since my change in style.

A moment later, the blonde girl appears with her shoulder bag and a small smile on her face. The first thing that caught my attention was her eyes. Those lovely sky blue eyes that seem to cause this weird thing to happen in my stomach everytime I look at them. She wore blue jeans and a red flannel over her white t-shirt. And like any other cowgirl, she had brown high top leather boots. Done up like mirrors. "Hey," she says quietly. "Hi," I reply. She takes out her History books and pencil case, setting everything up before starting.

"How'd you get my number?" I ask as lean on the table. She looked to me a little pale on it with a funny frightened stare. Like a fox being revealed by headlights. "Uh... You're mom gave me it. A while ago. During the summer." I nod with acknowledgement and take out my own things. "Cool. Anyway, Miss McGregor basically went on about random facts from the history of presidency. We gotta write up a short two paragraphs about one president, I assume." She nods vigorously. "Alright. Donald Trump. A total crazy man. Building a wall at the Mexican boarder. Stupid, right?" I ask curiously.

"I'm not very political but I believe he should approach the drug smuggling a different way without the racism against the Mexicans. Not sure what alternatives there is. Let's not get side tracked, please." She was very quiet. Quieter than usual. I start writing about the most famous president, George Washington. When he became president, what he planned for America, his family etc. I look up to see that she hasn't wrote much. She's zoned out but that frown is clearly saying she's bothered about something. "Something on your mind?" I ask.

"What? Of course not." I raise a brow in clear disbelief. Sighing lightly, Jessica leans back in her chair and continues to write. Normally I wouldn't continue to talk with someone, unless it was Sophie. So why do I have this urge to go on? Maybe she's the witch. "Do you really want to sit here in silence doing homework?" I ask. "Maybe not in silence but we're in the library." I could see she's also shaking. I'm not that scary, am I? "You can talk to me, Jess. I'm not gonna lash out on you. I have no reason to." "Alright. Why did you beat up Taylor?" She asks. I forgot they were friends and now I regret coming here.

"The bitch blamed me for Sophie's death and called me a dyke. It's as simple as that. She provoked me." She stops writing and lifts her eyes to meet my own. I love those eyes of hers. They're so mesmerising. I wonder if others get the feeling I get when our eyes meet. She then looks me up and down, wandering my chest longer than my hair then back to my eyes. "To be honest, you kinda do look like a dyke. I like the style. You'd fit the three skulls band." I could feel my cheeks heat up from her compliment. It must be true if the farmgirl said so. "That's because I'm in it. I'm the lead guitarist," I say with an awkward smile.

"Really? Maybe I'll go to the concerts more often now." "What?" I ask with a stutter. There was an awkward silence between us and during this moment, I feel vulnerable. "So, what you up to later?" She asks. "I'm doing nothing later. Why?" "Was wondering if you'd like to get something to eat and maybe head back to my place. My grandparents would be happy to meet you." "Oh... Maybe not head to your place. I'm too tired and need to get up early tomorrow." "Oh, okay," she said quietly. "Didn't you bring your truck?" She shook her head and continued writing as I did.
