It's been a week since Taylor was jumped by Sasha. She thanks me for helping her out but that was all I got from her. Not even a reason why she was jumped. I watch from a distance as her and Jess talk about something that clearly has Taylor upset. Jess doesn't seem to care which is understandable because Taylor's always starting something. Jess is looking amazing in her dark blue flannel and black jeans that hug her perfectly curved legs. I oddly have the need to feel them, bottom to top. It would be a lie if I said I forgot about the kiss. I want to kiss her again and it scares me. I still don't know what my sexuality is but do I really wanna know?
I look left of me and catch the gaze of Sasha who was talking to her chooms. About what is the question. Sasha has a thing for planning things very early before an event so maybe she's talking about her birthday or her friend's birthday. Maybe a night out. Honestly couldn't care less. She looks away, cheeks turning a little red. Probably embarrassed I caught her staring. The tannoy calls my name, demanding I head to the principal's office for some reason. It annoys me knowing it'll be about therapy. Everyone thinks I'm mentally unstable because of Sophie's death but I'm more than stable. When I walk into the office, stood in front of the principal was two men in black suits and shades on.
This must be about Theo. The principal looks a little confused yet surprised. "What's this about?" I ask. "We've concluded that Theo isn't a threat to our world and thought that she'd need a more social life. Would you mind helping her learn in this school?" The left asks. "Sure but what about Russians, US military and-" "We've made an agreement. As long as Theo doesn't kill a human unless it's self defense, they won't harm her. As for your school mates, that's something you'll deal with."
I shift my gaze to the principal who smiled weirdly. I'm beginning to hate him more than ever. He will willing allow an alien into our school but dumps shit on Miss McGregor when she needs help? What a dick move. "When will she start?" I ask. "As soon as she's ready. We know she's met a few others already, even after we said she wasn't allowed to." Shit, they know about that? Guess they do know everything. "You can head to class now, Audrey. Be sure to talk to this Theo when you get home." I sigh and roll my eyes as I head back to class.
When I enter, Miss McGregor was far worse than the past few days. Reeking of alcohol, hair a mess and a little more bruised around her face. I overheard that she was late to class this morning by two hours. She didn't even teach the class. Just sat with her head on the desk. I believe she's trying to escape her anxiety by drinking. Maybe loneliness is getting to her. Or maybe she's just given up on life. Whatever it is has me concerned.
I sit beside Jess and give her a warm smile. Her wrist is still in its cast but she said it was healing quick a few days ago. "Hey, Jess." "Hey, Audie." The tone she said it in was sweet, made me smile a little more. "How's the wrist?" I ask. "Good. A few more days and it should be fine. Did you hear about Sasha's plans for October?"
I raise a brow which answered her question so she continued. "She's invited everyone to her party a few weeks away. Even the nerds and geeks." We set our things on the desk as Miss McGregor pulled up a documentary on the board. "Why would she do that? She hates half the people in this school." Jess shrugs, as clueless as I am. "Maybe something happened and she finally saw the wrong she's been doing." I nod slowly and look to the teacher who had just left the class, looking like she was about to vomit. I sigh and take out my phone to message my mom about this. She'll be busy so I won't get a reply for a while.
Lunch came quick and Jess and I were out chilling in the car park. The sun was high and the farm girl looked beautiful as we sat on a wall drinking soda. "You have no idea how stupid it was. I was scarred for six weeks!" I laugh quietly while she laughed a little louder. She's telling a few stories of her grandparents and this one is about her grandad dressing up on his wife's birthday. "Wish my family was as fun as yours. You have no idea how boring it is." "Yeah, but I'm with my grandparents for a reason... I'll tell you someday." We both gaze at Sasha who was trying to start her red Cadillac.
