Over time, Gone was the young Norwegian princess who lived a very sheltered life, the one who didn't understand the outside one, In her stead was a beautiful twenty four years old woman who had lived a quiet, comfortable life in a two bedroom apartment with her precious daughter Sophie Eliz Romano.
Yes she had kept her lovers name seeing as years hadn't changed her feelings for the man who had provoked feelings she never knew about before he awakened them.

Yes she may have lost him to the cruel hands of death  but that didn't mean  That stopped loving him, everyday she thought about where they could have been had Things been any different.

After she had left Norway she had changed her appearance, booked a flight and left Norway with a promise to never return no matter what happened

Troubled days had turned two weeks, weeks that now morphed into months and months into four solid years of hardship especially after the birth of her daughter.

In addition to the money she had stolen she had gotten a job at a local Diner that had been owned by a kind old lady Margaret, popularly called Maggie in the neighborhood.
Maggie had helped her through thick and thin but sadly the years were no longer favorable to her, she had died leaving the Diner to Adriana who overtime had become the old ladies only living family.

Eventually she had enrolled her four-year-old daughter into school, now given her time to focus on making them comfortable and provide stability for the her baby.

Song time ago she had gone to the local cafe where she had researched about her family at least to know how they had been holding up over the years but to her utmost surprise and horror her family had pronounced her dead in a fire with evidence of a burning building, a burnt beyond recognizable female  body that looked exactly like her at least in stature and an autopsy results they claimed they insisted on getting cause  they couldn't believe their baby was gone.

Every year they held a memorial service that seemed to pull a lot of attention in the name of remembering a daughter who was like no other,   that day she had seen firsthand what her family could do and to worsen  it all her mother would  always say :

"As our child has died we pray that she stays dead and in peace with no one disrupting her rest with any wrong words or doing"

To the masses she was appealing to them to let her daughter rest in peace but to Adriana she understood the message:  they were asking her to stay dead and far away from them, it wasn't necessarily seeing as she had no plans of returning home in her life but ever since read the article she had made sure to stay safe and silently under-the-radar with no friends or acquaintances, all she had was Sophia and her Diner and  the highest interaction she had with any living human being were the orders and the customer service.

she had learnt to move on and live well and there was no way in hell she would let anyone disturb the life she had built for herself and her daughter.

Over the years she had perfected her skills as a sniper even if she had only shot one person in her entire life, she could shoot any gun as long as it had a bullet and she could shoot from any range at all, also probably in the state of her paranoia she had learnt how to fight, she had trained beyond the basic self-defence cause she knew that no matter how far she ran trouble would come knocking one day  and she was being prepared to keep her child safe as long as she lived.

Currently she had concluded  sales for the day and she was awaiting  the Three Men Who sat some paces away to finish their meal but for some reason they seemed more interested in what the other man was saying in hushed whispers so she decided to pour  herself a drink and some snack before quietly plopping down in the chair closest to them while carefully eating her snacks and scrolling through her phone nonchalantly all the while eavesdropping carefully so she could hear bits by bits  the conversation that seemed to be striking more fear in the hearts of these Shady looking men.

"Perez è il re della mafia e non sono in grado di mettere continuamente in discussione le sue azioni soprattutto se stilo la mia testa."

(Perez he is the Mafia king and I'm in no place to continously question his actions especially if I value my head)

One of the men had slightly yelled while the others glared accusingly at the blonde haired man in the group.

The conversation had ended almost immediately after that and soon enough they rose from their sits, placed their bills on the table and walked away not before bidding her goodnight  with no useful information received on her end.

She made sure never to involve herself in the slightest of squabbles of but  she was sure to be updated with everything that was happening around her.

The Mafia King whom she had never really heard much about had conquered the mafia world and basically the entire mafia Clans and for that she was happy at least her ex-fiance and her family would stop acting like they owned the world.

the Mafian clans usually consisted of the highest mafia  in every country while the  lower cartels answered to the highest  who was none other than the King.

Yes she knew all this but she made sure to avoid the life, she was done and there was no going back besides  she had no interest in knowing this mafia King neither did she  wish to ever cross his path.

she had heard how  ruthless he was and how his killed men for committing sins as  slight as staring at him the wrong way and she knew that her little self had nothing on a man like that so it was best to remain as to previous as little Sophia.

She had closed up the diner and finally she had arrived home where she was quick to pay the babysitter before arranging everywhere spotless then proceeded to pack up her and Sophia's things seeing as her baby was going on her first international excursion trip in New York.

Thankfully the parents could come along as long as they sponsored themselves, she sure as hell was not about to send her four-year-old child off on her so she was going along, even if she would just stand around watching her from a slight distance.

Call her paranoid and she wouldn't be annoyed, she couldn't take chances in this world especially not with her daughter involved.
