AND THUS IT BEGAN

CHAPTER 19

Marco:

   Soon enough into the mission we were standing right outside the disgusting place, it was night already and frankly I couldn't for the life of me wait for this day to end already.

I watched as bullets flew everywhere and in no time I watched as the fucker grabbed Sophie's hair and began pulling her back while she thrashed and cried, there was more pain in her eyes than I had ever witnessed in anyone ever and I could never put in words the helplessness I felt this moment.

   "Hand me the girl and I swear to walk away from here, your life still yours and very intact" .

I was lying but he didn't need to know that.

  "How about, You let me walk away with the girl, maybe once I'm far away from here I will let her go?"
He honestly thought he was in the position to bargain.

I turned to Luciana who was now free and holding Luca in a death grip, I was terribly sad for her cause she was so fragile you could never be too careful when it got to her.
I wish they never experienced something so sick at such a young age.

The mere thought of what they have gone through made the anger multiply in me and without warning I aimed straight at his right shoulder and shot him.

Thankfully Sophie was quick enough to rush to the side and ran over to my open arms and began crying her poor heart out.

I wasn't used to seeing my daughter so weak so you could imagine the anger and frustration I was feeling.

   "Take him to the cell and make sure he is patched up, there will be someone coming to pay him a maternal visit"
Were my orders before picking my baby up and carrying her all the way to the car and driving back home.

Some time later we arrived the house and I decided to take her to my room since I was told Catherina was there already.
Getting inside my room had my heart breaking all over again cause there she sat, crying so helplessly I couldn't help myself but pulled her into my chest after tucking Sophie in.

We had stayed in that same position till she stopped crying and began to hiccup while I rubbed her back consistently till she snuggled more into me and in no time we were both fast asleep with a promise of dealing with tomorrow together.

I don't know how long I slept for but I could tell it was morning already because of the sun that filtered through the curtains, I got out of the bed only to find Catherinas spot empty while Sophie still slept soundly.

I went to the bathroom and did my morning routine, had a fresh bath and changed into more comfortable clothes, went over to Sophie and kissed her head before proceeding to get breakfast.

Walking into the kitchen only to find Luciana and Luca on the island having breakfast.
   "Good morning Zio"
Lucia greeted with her mouth stuffed full with pancakes.

I smiled and kissed her head before plopping down on the sit next to Luca.
   "Good morning brother"
Luca greeted, looking at something on his phone.

   I grunted a replied before I began sipping my coffee and replying to a couple of mails from my secretary, I desperately needed a personal assistant with the way it was going.

  Looking around for close to five minutes and yet Catherina was nowhere in sight.
    "Have you seen Catherina?"
I asked Luca who spared me glance before returning to his phone.

   "you missed her by a couple of minutes, she said she had art to draw at the cell"
I got curious cause I was wondering what my Catherina could possibly do when it got to torture.

  "I know that look on your face and I've been waiting for the moment when our curiosity consumes us"
Luca spoke with so much mock excitement I couldn't even hold back my laughter anymore.

   "Princess why don't you go join Sophie in my room so you can get some sleep too, you look like you are about to pass out"
I directed to Luciana who was practically dozing.

  "Bye papa, bye peaches"
With that she turned to the maid who carried her up the stairs, she never stops with that annoying nickname peaches, what in the hell did that even mean.

   "Let's go Marco, I can't wait anymore"
With that He basically skipped out of the kitchen and began running over to the cells, I couldn't even pretend that I wasn't as curious as him so I walked faster.

Unfortunately, never have I regretted a choice in my entire existence like the one I made by coming over here.

There on her knees was Catherina holding a pair of my scissors in hand with the fuckers very hard and erect dick been chopped little by little while he cried in so much agony the guards around just stared at her in fear and slight disgust.

I didn't know how to react in the moment cause this wasn't the Catherina I thought I knew, I was no saint so I couldn't judge, I did way more worse shit than that but coming from her made it more gut wrenching than I'd ever accept.

  Soon enough she walked out of the room and tried to walk away without even acknowledging Luca and I.

    "Catherine wai-"

  "Don't. Call. Me. That"
She snapped before I could even come any  closer.

   "Okay I'm sorry but Please talk to me, I can't hel-"

   "I don't need your fucking help, back off and stay away from me"
She snapped once again before I could finish my statement.

   "How can I understand you if you won't even let me in"
I almost fell on me knees ignoring my men and everyone else.

  "LEAVE ME ALONE, I don't owe you anything and I don't want you either so get away from me, oh and that beloved helper of yours is working with them"
With that she pushed passed me and stormed away leaving me with a headache and a heart too heavy to breathe in here.

I thought I could fix our relationship, I tried and God knows I tried but obviously I will never be able to even get close enough to fix us.

I knew what I needed and it was to be far away from here till I got my thoughts intact.

   "Ready The Jet"
Were my last words to Luca before walking away.

I didn't know what I was going to do but I knew for sure that it was best for me not to be here.
