Marco:
Over a week had passed since Sophie's kidnap, since the torture I witnessed melt on that man and since the argument we had and I dare not say that I was doing okay but I most definitely planned on keeping it to myself.
I love Catherina with all my heart but I feel like she doesn't need me and she could never let us be the way we used to be so I decided it was best to give her the space she needed to make a decision, regardless of the love I had for her if she decided she couldn't be with me anymore then the best I could do was let her go.
I couldn't hold her back anymore knowing that there was so much I didn't know yet she wasn't ready to tell me anything at all, if the situation had been with a different person Lord knows that I would never have paid any attention but this wasn't just any One this was the love of my life and the Mere thought that I didn't know her anymore created a hole in my heart.
After getting refreshed and changing into more comfortable clothes I walked to the dining room to join everyone else for breakfast, surprisingly she was still here and I deeply hoped that she would be for the rest of our lives.
First off, I kissed Sophie's head luciana's head and Catherina too, I know I was avoiding her but I didn't want everyone else knowing our business.
"Where have you been papa?"
Sophie asked as soon as I settled down, never have I wished to be in my bed so badly in my life, I couldn't do this, sitting and pretending that everything was just perfect. I know I was acting like some wimp but even I couldn't pretend through this."I had some business to take care of in the states princess"
That was a big lie but she didn't have to know that, besides how was I supposed to tell her that I left because I couldn't breathe in the very place that should be my comfort zone."You Left without saying goodbye?"
Sophie whispered but this time I heard the crack in her voice which made me look up only to watch her buttom lips wobble the way she did whenever she was about to cry.I rushed over to her and picked her up and placed her in my hips before turning to the help that stood beside my sit.
"Bring our food to my room"
With that I walked away without sparing anyone a glance. Finally we got to my room where I sat in the recliner Chair I had there for relaxation purposes then placed Sophie on my laps and continued to rub her back cause I hated the sight of her tears, she was a strong kid and whenever I'd see her cry I felt some type of way and probably worse cause I was the reason for it this time.
"I'm sorry princess, I didn't mean to leave without saying goodbye, it was an emergency and I couldn't wake you so I had to leave"
This was me justifying my reasons for not staying back and fighting for the love of my life and now that I was saying it out loud I felt more stupid than I did for the past few days.
"Are you and mummy fighting?"
She asked, looking up at me with genuinely curious eyes.
I didn't know how I was supposed to answer that and thankfully I didn't have to cause the help rolled our food in and without further questions Soph dug into her food without even sparing me a glance. Now that I was thinking about it I didn't know how I was supposed to tell her that I didn't know where I stood in her mum's life or that sooner than later we will no longer be able to see each other the way we did cause I knew Catherina would never want to leave her with me if she decided to give up on us.
Sometime later Sophie and I were settled in bed and were watching a movie when a knock sounded at the door, I was about to ask who it was when Sophie rushed over and pulled the handle after a lot of struggle of course.
Looking over, I watched Luca and Luciana step in and almost immediately the two girls were immersed in a deep conversation even if I have no clue what they were talking about. it was always amusing whenever I would see them like that cause I honestly never understood what five-year-olds could be so deep about.
"Chances are that those two will end up together"
Luca said bursting into a really hearty laughter while I smacked him in the head before focusing back on the movie I wasn't even following. There will be absolutely nothing wrong if the both of them ended up together, they weren't related by blood cause Luca and I were brothers by choice, they would be doing nothing wrong and besides, who better spend your life with if not the one you spent everyday growing with.
I couldn't be having thoughts like that cause they were still kids and who is to say that they actually swing the other way in the future.
"How you holding up brother?"
Came Luca's question after he sobered up, it's funny how his mood could go from zero to hundred in a minute."I don't know man, I don't know"
I replied quite honestly cause I truly didn't know anymore.
This should have been easy but it seemed as though easy couldn't be achieved anymore.I noticed that he was silent for a while before turning to me as though he was pondering his next words
"Why don't you go talk to her"Was his next word earning a scoff from me, he talked as though he wasn't there.
"You were there Luca, you heard her sound and clear, asking me to back the fuck off, to leave her alo-"I was interrupted by another knock on the door earning a groan from me, this was the first time anyone was knocking more than once in my room and it annoyed the living day life out of me.
I went over to the door ready to give whoever stood there some good lashing out but was stopped right on track when I saw the flawless face of the love of my life.
Even with a puffy eye and a red nose she still looked beautiful and out of this world, so sinful.
"Can We Talk?"
She asked, her voice husky from what I assumed to be after effects of crying so much."Take care of the kids Luca"
Were my words before I turned and lifted her in my arms and wrapped her legs around my waist before making my way to the one place I hadn't taken her to yet.I really hoped she was ready to finally let me in.
