Zayn’s POV

I huffed slightly, my breath coming out in short, desperate puffs. The door was right in front of me. The door to her; the door to Bailey. It was right there, in front of me. Come on, Zayn, kick the fucking door down. Kick it down, gather yourself and kick it, just one powerful smash.

Louis was shouting at me, but it was a blur to my senses as my leg arched and I lunged forward at the touch metallic door with all of my strength. With one dying cough it gave away, revealing the horrifyingly beautiful sight in front of me. It was overwhelming, just staring straight in front of me and seeing a million different things.

There she was, beaten, bloodied, exhausted. Beautiful.

And right in front of her and her sister, there she stood. The person doing all of this, the person causing all of this terror.

A gunshot whipped through the air, ripping me away from the illusion Bailey put me in. An echoing crash raced through the room, and I followed the sound to see Bell scream and clutch her arm. They must have shot at me, and missed. Someone from the back groaned.

“Blue Eyes, for fucks sake, she was mine! I wanted to shoot her!” the man groaned, pouting as Bell bled like a waterfall beside him. ‘Blue Eyes’ chuckled humorlessly. I growled, not amused in the slightest about the careless way they were handling my friends’ lives.

You,” I whispered in a deadly tone, daring to take one step forward towards the person inflicting this pain; towards Bailey’s mother.

Yes, it was Bailey's own mother doing all of this, causing all of this pain to her daughter and the rest of her friends.

The idea made me sick to my stomach.

Louis stood tensely by my side, shaking with rage. Bailey was staring at me with wide eyes, her sensational lips trembling softly as she whimpered.

“Zayn,” was the only thing I heard her melodious voice utter, before I turned my attention back to the monster only a few meters away from me. Several people surrounded us, each of them accompanying one member of our group; Bell, Harry, Niall, Emily, all of them were here. All of them had a gun or some other weapon pressed against the neck or face.

“You fucking monster!” I roared, controlling myself so as to not lurch towards her. The glittering gun in her hand was enough to stop me.

“Hey, hey, no need to be so hostile,” she chuckled, traces of hatred and fury lacing her words.

“Don’t fucking pretend anymore. Some mother you are, too,” I quipped, daring to take another step in the direction of the perpetrator. She barked with laughter.

“Me?” Bailey’s mother gasped, faking innocence. “Why, I am only doing what’s right! Such a ruined bitch she is, I did all I could to save her and yet she is still such an ungrateful fucking cow.” Sighing, she tugged at the worn out leather tracket draped around her broad, masculine shoulders. “Such a ruined soul.”
