Chapter 45- Accomplice

*Girl in Red, anyone?* :]

Taehyun and Beomgyu made their way back home, thinking about what Soobin and Yeonjun just told them.

"Who would wanna do that?" Beomgyu asks as he stops at a red light.

"I don't know..do you have any enemies?" Taehyun asked.

"Well aside from my mom, no, but I don't think she would actually do anything to us to tear us apart. What about you? Any enemies?"

Taehyun scrunched his nose as one particular person came to mind.

His ex.

Taehyun didn't say anything. His mind was too caught up in his thoughts and unanswered questions.

"Hyun? You ok?" Beomgyu asked, placing his hand over Taehyun's, concern washing over him.

"Yeah..sorry it's just my ex came to mind. The one I told you about the night you slept on the couch with me at Kai's apartment. I just don't see why or how she correlates to us. How would she have even found me? Knew my whereabouts? That I'm dating you? What if we're being followed? What if she tries to hurt y-"

"Hyun, calm down, you're spiraling. We don't know if she's the one trying to do this, but we'll keep an eye out ok? I promise nothing is going to separate us."

The silver haired male only frowned, his head still stirring with questions.

"Yeah, ok thanks hyung."

The pair arrived at their home, still fazed at what Soobin and Yeonjun told them.

"Taeyunnie, do you wanna go on a date? Tomorrow or later today?" Beomgyu said, trying to ease up the younger.

But Taehyun was in a daze.

"Taehyun, love? Are you alright?" Beomgyu asked, nudging on Taehyun's shirt sleeve.

"Oh..yeah I'm alright. What did you say before?" 

"I asked if you wanted to go on a date later today or tomorrow, but you seem out of it. "

Taehyun smiled as he looked at Beomgyu, running to him in excitement, giving him a back hug.

"I'd love to go on a date, hyung. I'll go get ready!"

Taehyun ran upstairs without letting Beomgyu react or say anything. He didn't even notice the hue of pink on the older's cheeks.

"He's so cute.." Beomgyu said under his breath, a smile plastered on his face and ears red.

Beomgyu made his way upstairs and into his closet, looking for something to wear.

"God..when did my fashion taste get so..shitty? This all sucks.."

As he continued rummaging through his clothes, he got a phone call.

'Dad' it read.

"Hi dad, what's up?"

'Beomgyu, you need to come home. I've already called Soobin, Yeonjun, and Huening Kai. Bring Taehyun. Hurry up, all of us need to talk.'

"What's going on? Is mom ok?"

'Yes, she's just fine, but we need to see you and Taehyun immediately. Soobin, Yeonjun and Kai should be here too and I believe they're on their way so hurry up.'

"I'm on my way, see you in a bit."

With that, Beomgyu ended the call and rushed out of his closet and into his shared room, where Taehyun was getting dressed.

"Hyun, I'm sorry but we have to postpone our date. My dad just called and he needs to see us, he called Soobin and Yeonjun hyung too, along with Kai. We need to get to their house, he didn't explain what's going on but he seemed concerned. Let's go."

Taehyun frowned at the sudden news. 

He wanted to go on a date with him, but he complied anyway and went downstairs, where Beomgyu was waiting for him.

"Let's go." Taehyun said as Beomgyu opened the door for him.

The drive to Beomgyu's first home was silent, it was awkward. It was a first for the two, they were never in awkward silence.

Beomgyu was uneasy the whole time which is why he didn't speak, but Taehyun was just in a mood. He nor Beomgyu could pinpoint what that mood was, but it wasn't a good feeling. 

A few minutes later, they arrived at the Choi's home. 

Soobin and Yeonjun had already gotten there, Kai seemingly running late. They were outside with Mr and Mrs. Choi greeting one another. 

Concerned looks on all their faces.

Taehyun and Beomgyu got out of the car, both confused but made their way to the 4 ahead  of them.

"Hi Soobin hyung, hi Yeonjun hyung." Beomgyu said, quickly switching his attention on his parents.

"What's going on? Why'd you have to see all of us?"

Mr and Mrs. Choi exchanged looks, their expressions no long readable. 

"It's best we go inside and talk. Does anyone know if Huening Kai is almost here?" Mrs. Choi asked the group of friends.

They all shook their heads.

"I'm here, I'm here!" Kai said, catching his breath from running.

"Great, lets go inside and talk." Mrs. Choi said, opening the front door, everyone following her inside.

The group of 7 settled on the couch, everyone nervous.

Neither Mr or Mrs. Choi spoke, it was like they were waiting for someone else to speak.

"Well?" Beomgyu asked them.

Mr. Choi cleared his throat and squirmed in his seat.

"This is gonna be kinda heavy, specifically for you, Taehyun.." Mr. Choi said, looking at Taehyun.

Beomgyu's concern shot up even more and immediately reached for Taehyun's hand, intertwining his fingers in his.

Taehyun didn't say anything, but instead intertwined his fingers with Beomgyu's too, waiting for the worst.

Mrs. Choi took in a deep breath, closing her eyes and exhaling, reopening her eyes.

"Taehyun, we're not on good terms right now, but I'm here for you as much as everyone in here is. Um.. your father, he.. he confessed to having a second accomplice. The case is.. reopening."
