Kale's POV-
"I will take her on," was spoken firmly in a powerful voice. A powerful voice that I'd know anywhere. A firm, beautiful, lovely voice that I missed so dearly and never thought that I was going to get to hear ever again.
"L-Luce?" I stuttered as I turned around towards the door instantly.
As soon as my eyes met her form, I blinked. Once, twice, and when she didn't disappear on the third time, I cried in surprise and relief. I rushed towards her, scared that she would disappear at any second, and touched her face hesitantly. I sobbed in relief when my fingers touched her, and she still didn't disappear.
I didn't care that all of the high level ranking wolves from our allies were all surrounding us, I was solely focused on her... My mate. My supposed to be dead mate.
"I-I..." I tried to speak, but too many emotions were clogging up my throat. "Lucy. Is it you? Are you real?" I finally asked after reeling myself in a bit. I was just so shocked and so grateful.
"Yes, Kale. It's me. I'm real. I'm here," she told me gently as she touched my hand that was still caressing her cheek.
"You're here!" I sighed in relief and hugged her to me as if she'd disappear again. Because, to be fair, I was terrified that she truly would. I was scared that I was making her up in my head, even though she had just tried to reassure me that she was real. "What? B-but how?"
"It is a long story, and I promise that I will tell you all about it. However, let's first get the ball rolling on this attack," she told me as she hugged me tightly too. "Oh my God Kale, I have missed you so much," she told me when I finally loosened my grip on her.
I couldn't help it; I leaned in and captured her lips in a kiss that truly showed her just how much I had missed her. I had missed her like crazy. I thought that I was going to have to live the rest of my life without her. I thought I was going to have to feel that painful emptiness for all my life. I no longer felt the emptiness that her absence caused. She was there.
"We can do that if that's what you want, my Luce," I told her after I pulled away from our long kiss. "B-but you're okay, right?" I asked her before checking her over for any damage.
It was the first time that my mind had even been able to really process her appearance. She wore her white mating ritual dress, though it was quite dirty, it still looked absolutely spectacular on her. She had a white flower crown on her head, the flowers were in full bloom. Sitting above the flowers, not touching them directly but definitely still apart of the crown, were small black flames that flickered beautifully above each flower. She looked like a Goddess.
I mean, yes... She was dirty from whatever long journey that she had just been on. She even had small scratches and bruises, but she looked better than ever as she stood before all of us, ready to go into battle. A battle that I knew we could win with her fighting on our side.
"I'm okay, Kale," she told me gently as she caressed my cheek. "I'm here, and I am okay."
"You're here," I whispered before kissing her forehead. I was still in complete shock. However, the joy that was in my heart from her actually being there was immeasurable.
"You were right," she spoke and walked forward to the table that had the territories map on it. "Head on is the best way to go about this. We need to cut straight up through the Rodman's territory. That will land us directly in the Russel's territory closest to their packhouse and common areas," she told us all.
"We need to leave from our land in the early morning hours, camp out at the borders of the fallen Jones' pack, then attack in the dead of the night. It gives us a bit of an upper hand in the fact that they will not expect us, and it will put us at the Russel's territory right at dawn," she continued to explain. "You need to understand that the Rodman pack is now solely a warrior pack. They pushed any non-warriors into the Russel's territory for protection and not to get in the way. Therefore, the Rodman pack is dangerous, and they have nothing holding them back. However, there is no way that they can stand against all of us. We have bigger numbers with all of our allies, we have the element of surprise, and the witch will not know what hit her as soon as she sees me. They will not expect us to attack them, they are counting on them to have to come and defeat us."
