The Cooks were out on the sea.

"The sea is empty, Daddy. We haven't caught one single fish" said Livvy.

"We should probably try somewhere else" said Murray.

"Wait! I got a bite!" said Belle.

"Really?!" said Livvy.

"Yes! A BIG bite!" said Belle.

Livvy helped Belle pull her fish up.

"That's gotta be a two-footer" said Belle.

"Bonzer catch, Belle!" said Livvy.

"Thanks, Liv" said Belle.

"Great job, girls." said Murray.

"Can we let it go, Daddy?" said Ariel.

"Why, Ariel?" said Murray.

"I can't stand hurting fish" said Ariel.

"Well, alright" said Murray.

The girls let the fish go. Then Ariel stood near the edge of the deck.

"Ariel? Aren't you gonna fish? You haven't since we got here" said Belle.

"Well..." was all Ariel responded with.

"Well what?" said Livvy.

"I like being on the sea, but... I kinda see fishing as violence to sea creatures" said Ariel.

"If you don't like hurting fish, then why did you agree to this?" said Belle.

"Because I wanted to be with my family on the sea" said Ariel.

"Alright. How's about telling us. What is it about the sea that's making you wanna be on it without fishing?" said Livvy.

"I dunno. It just seems so interesting. I mean... I've heard sailors in Byron Bay tell stories about the mermaids that live in the sea" said Ariel.

"Mermaids? You're trippin" said Belle.

"Belle! That's cruel!" scolded Murray.

"Sorry, Daddy" said Belle.

"I am being serious, Belle. Mermaids really live in the ocean" said Ariel.

"Have you seen one?" said Belle.

"Well... no. But I know they exist" said Ariel.

"They're mermaids in silly stories you've heard from the sailors" said Belle.

"They're not silly, Belle. They're all about the merpeople that live in this very sea. Ruled by King Triton. The king of the sea" said Ariel.

"Ariel, please! All this talk about mermaids and the king of the sea is nautical nonsense" said Livvy.

"It's not nonsense, Livvy. It's the truth" said Ariel.

"Ariel? That's enough, my love" said Murray.

"Daddy, it's true" said Ariel.

"Ariel. They love to tell stories like that in Byron Bay. But that doesn't mean they're true" said Murray.

"Really?" said Ariel.

"Yes. They're fun to listen to, but they're not real" said Murray.

"But, Daddy, you're a Wiggle. Wiggles believe these things. Don't they?" said Ariel.

"Yes they do. But we just listen to the stories and not pass them off as real" said Murray.

"That doesn't really count as believing them!" Ariel almost shouted.

"You know, I think it's time we got Ariel back to shore" said Belle.

"And reality" said Livvy.
