Lyra's POV
Cyanide traced a knife along my bare stomach. "A beautiful thing aren't you?" Goosebumps rose on my skin at the knife's scorching touch. She laughed as she moved the knife over my heart. "Let's have some fun, shall we?"
I heard a distant voice yelling my name.Cyanide angled the knife and began to push down.
I thrashed and screamed as I felt hands on my shoulders.
"LYRA"
My eyes flew open and I gasped for breath. My throat was dry as I gazed into a pair of bright green eyes-Izuku.
"It was a dream." He murmured. "Breathe." He rested his forehead against mine. I took a deep shuddering breath and closed my eyes, gripping the bed sheets. I was at his home.
"I'm sorry." I rasped.
"You have nothing to apologize for." He rolled off me and pulled me closer. "Rest, I'm right here."
I learned against his chest and listened to his beating heart and closed my eyes.
—————-
It was the afternoon when I woke up. It was the weekend so Izuku and I decided to stay with his mom. I rushed to the bathroom and quickly got dressed. I saw a little note and a coffee as I walked out of the bathroom.
Made you a little something. I hope you're feeling better from last night. And remember I'm always here for if you want to talk about it. ~ Izuku
I smiled as I took a sip. He's so sweet. I stumbled down the stairs to see Izuku helping his mom cook. His dark tattoo glimmered as the sun shined through the kitchen windows. He crossed his arms over his sculpted chest as he looked at his mom.
Izuku smiled at me and gestured for me to sit down.
The doorbell rang and Mrs.Midoriya left to answer it. I raised my eyebrows as All Might strode through the door.
Izuku sat down as his mother shooed him away from the kitchen. He glanced at All Might and snapped his fingers. "I forgot to tell you, she knows about one for all."
All Might sighed and disappeared in a cloud of smoke and where there was a tall buff man, a skinny almost skeleton like figure stood in his place.
My jaw dropped in shock. "All Might?"
He gave me a smile. "This is my true form." He went on to explain what happened to him and I nodded in understanding.
We were talking about one for all, when I thought of something. "Your lightning Izuku. Have you ever utilized it in battle? I know you can. At the attack at East Star, you manipulated it to cover me, kinda like a shield."
Izuku hummed and tapped his fingers on the table. "I remember that."
All Might stroked his chin. "She is right. When I use one for all it gives me great strength but that lightning is unique to you."
"Why don't you try it out?" Izuku's mom said, sliding him a cup.
Izuku powered up and vibrant green lighting danced around him. He closed his eyes and held out his hand. The green lighting trashed and blasted the cup to pieces and unfortunately our plates as well.
Izuku opened his eyes and chuckled at the broken plates. "I guess I have to learn how to control it. But at least we know it works."
Izuku's mom sparked, "Those were my favorite plates!"
Izuku rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry mom."
All Might let out a hearty laugh. "You keep on getting more and more powerful everyday, young Midoriya."
I laughed. "Well I'm gonna go out, with the girls. Thank you for letting me stay here Mrs.Midoriya." I kissed Izuku on the cheek and left through the door.
I met up with Scarlet, Kat, and Tsu at the mall. Tsu was a surprisingly strict shopper and stopped Kat and me from overbuying. Kat and I grumbled but listened to her. I guess my rings and dresses would have to wait another day.
Kat nudged me as we made our way back home. "You look like you've got something on your mind."
I glanced at Scarlet and Tsu who were ahead of us.
I sighed. "Am I a bitch if I say I'm jealous of all you guys?"
"What do you mean?"
"You, Scarlet, North, Oli, Izuku, and everyone are getting stronger, finding new aspects of your quirks." I twisted my ring. "I remember that feeling of wonder and awe as you find a new use for your quirk and realizing you're growing stronger. I don't think I ever told you guys what my quirk was. I called it adaptive wings. It mutated from my mother's quirks My wings transform and help elevate an attribute of myself. I remember unlocking different wings; I had attack, defense, speed, stealth, and of course my normal one. Every time I got a new set of wings, I felt so proud. I knew there was a realm of possibilities inside my quirk and I was excited to unlock all aspects. But now it feels like I'm stuck with my quirk gone."
Kat held my hand. "Oh Lyra."
"It's not like I don't want you guys to get stronger, in fact I'm happy for you guys. But I feel like I'm being left behind." I stammered, averting my gaze.
Kat held my shoulder. "Lyra you have every right to feel that way. And I'm glad, you trusted me enough to tell me. You know I would never leave you behind. None of us would. You're part of the team whether you like it or not."
I hugged her tightly. "I'm going to take off." I waved goodbye to the three of them and let myself wander the streets. After some time, I walked into a park and decided to rest. I sat down on the grass and took out my sketchbook. It's been a while since I drew so I started off with simple drawings. I drew the structures and the people at the park as I became more comfortable and remembered how to draw. I felt at peace: listening to the birds sing, feeling the grass underneath my legs, seeing people enjoy life. This is what I wanted to protect as a hero.
