Ari and Lancelot fall further in love and Squirrel makes a discovery.

I won't be silent and I won't let go
I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow and
We'll burn so bright 'til the darkness softly clears

Ari did not want to wake up alone, but she did. The smell of him like a rainy autumn day lingered in her senses, on her skin, in the furs that they had laid on... that they had made love on. It hung in the air and she revelled in it, turning her face further into her covers to not let it escape. Her mind spun with a million thoughts of him and her smile never faded. She'd never been so drunk on this feeling before and the strength of the renewed heart beating within her chest had never felt so light as it did then.

They had agreed afterwards in the night before that Lancelot would return to his allocated room across the castle. Importantly because Squirrel was there alone, but also because they wanted this just for them, at least for now. They didn't want to risk someone seeing him leave in the morning, it was bad enough that someone might have definitely heard them coming undone together. She was sad to see him go but he kissed her with all his affections pouring out, held her cheeks delicately and promised that they would talk again in the morning. She agreed with him, standing on her toes for one last sweet kiss before he walked away through the door.

She somehow did not feel like she had been used as she lay there slowly waking to the sunlight coming through her windows. He had given himself to her and her to him willingly. They were tied now together even more so than before and it did not matter that he was not here by her side at this moment, because he was with her, mind, body and soul. She didn't think that her heart had ever fluttered or the butterflies in her stomach had ever danced this much before, and she knew then that she was truly in love.
