Once the announcer left the mat, Robby snapped his fingers and called out to his girls to take their places. "One, two, three, four, five."
They assembled in three neat lines behind him.
(Music begins to pump through the speaker system)
{"Heavy Is the Crown" by Daughtry was the dancer's song of choice}
🎵See them march like lambs to the slaughter 🎵
🎵Toy soldiers line up on the altar 🎵Robby gestured to his father's students at the phrase '...toy soldiers line up on the altar...', his back-up dancers following his lead and parodying him when he waved tauntingly at their sensei in a way that was practically dripping with pure mockery.
Johnny's mouth tightened around the edges.
In case that wasn't bad enough, Robby looked over his shoulder to throw a mocking wink at his dad's student who'd assaulted him on the beach last night and turned his back to him pointedly just to rub salt in the wound further.
The actions had an edge of 'cattiness' that someone wouldn't normally associate with a male dancer, but somehow, he managed to pull it off.
It was clear to everyone in the room that he was throwing shade at how the students had come into the arena chanting their dojo name and then stood in distinct lines like they were soldiers readying themselves for war.
Miguel and Hawk fumed visibly at the insult.
Who the hell did this know-it-all prick think he was?
He had no right accusing them of being '...lambs to the slaughter...'.
Sensei Lawrence was tough, yes, but he only had their best intentions at heart. He was teaching them to be capable, badass fighters, and they were proud of how far they'd come over the last few months.
🎵 I was never meant to drink that water. 🎵
Robby positioned himself three rows in front of the girls.
Moments later, he twisted his body and backflipped so that he landed directly in front of the group as the song began to pick up pace.

Chad Brad Bradley's talent as a dancer was an undisputed fact.
He could pull off virtually any routine without difficulty (even to songs that other dance captains wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole), and that made him one of the most sought-after choreographers in the state.
He glanced over at his dad, noting the look of astonishment on the older man's face at the effortlessness of the move he'd just pulled off, and sent the older man a mischievous smirk that made it apparent he was just getting started.
🎵Never falter, never let them bleed you out. 🎵
Robby brought his foot back, body tilted to the side, and turned his head exaggeratedly, flipping his hair sideways in a taunting manner as the lyrics 🎵 '...never let them bleed you out....', 🎵 play in the background.
He ran his hand down his cheek tauntingly.
Crowd: Ooh!
(The spectators laugh at the burn.)
