6:38 pm

music blared from my phone as i begun to get ready for my date with yukhei. i turned my flat iron on and started to straighten my hair, humming along with the melody of the songs playing from my phone. the entire day had felt like a dream, and surges of euphoria kept rushing through my body. this would be my first date ever, and to think it was going to be with yukhei made me thrilled. i never would've thought such an attractive boy would like me, nevertheless go out to eat with me, so i was overjoyed to say the least.

my alone time was soon ruined though as i heard the dorm door swing open and a voice call out for me. "ahh~ yujin! i'm back!" jaemin shouted loudly.

shoot. jaemin had stated that he was going to come back late, but i assumed he meant much later than six-thirty. my breath hitched in my chest. i paused for a moment and whipped my head around, completely caught off guard by jaemin's arrival. i panicked and reached out to my phone to turn the music off, fumbling around the bathroom as all my makeup tools laid scattered around the countertop. i tried my best to put everything away, quickly shoving palettes and brushes back into their respective bags. as i struggled to clean up after myself, i heard a knock on the bathroom door.

"yujin? are you in there? aish, what are you doing?" i heard jaemin question, making my heart race faster.

"uhhh, d-don't come in!" i stuttered, almost out of breath. i cursed to myself and held my hands on the top of my head, completely dumbfounded as to what to do next.

"you're freaking me out, yujin. open the door," jaemin stated, worry lingering in his tone.

"j-just wait!" i screamed. i wasn't sure as to why i felt so guilty. i felt as if i had been caught stealing something. all i was doing was getting ready for a date, so why did i feel so distressed? everything was fine until jaemin showed up.

i gathered a few more of my things and took a second to put myself back together. once i deemed myself as fit enough to speak, i opened the door and was met with jaemin's confused gaze.

"you're all dressed up?" he queried, raising a brow.

i gulped and nodded softly. "y-yeah... i just wanted to try something out, you know? put on a dress and do my makeup. it seemed like it would be fun," i told him with a half-hearted smile, hoping he'd believe my very obvious lie.

jaemin gave my a blank stare and blinked his eyes slowly. "yujin, you really expect me to fall for that? you would never get all dressed up just for the hell of it."

"what do you know about me? maybe i would," i retorted stubbornly, crossing my arms and furrowing my brows.

he let out a deep sigh and shook his head. he looked away from me for a second and rolled his tongue around in his mouth. "i'm not dumb, yujin. where are you going?" the boy asked with a hint of annoyance in his tone.

"i'm not going anywhere!" i sneered.

"whatever," jaemin voiced, rolling his eyes and walking away from me.

"yeah, keep rolling your eyes and maybe you'll find a brain back there," i said sarcastically, quoting him.

i noticed jaemin's shoulders tense up, and he stopped in tracks. it was silent for a moment before he finally replied. "oh my god, yujin, shut up," he scoffed.

"i don't get what the problem is," i claimed while standing my ground.

jaemin looked over his shoulder and sighed. "all i wanted to know is where you're going. i don't understand why i can't worry about you."

these words caught my off-guard, and i immediately softened my gaze towards him. i was speechless, and the silence between us was deafening. i bit my lip and looked down to my feet, feeling a bit bad now. i truly didn't know why i was being so short with jaemin. he didn't deserve that. for some reason though, i felt the need to hide my plans for tonight from him. the same twinge of guilt from earlier returned once i lifted my eyes to meet jaemin's.

we shared a gentle look before a car suddenly honked its horn right outside our dorm. i straightened up and widened my eyes, running past jaemin to look outside the window. i heard the boy speak as i shoved past him, but i was too concerned about the noise to even pick up on what he was saying. i pushed the window curtains out of the way and dropped my jaw as i saw a black porsche parked on the road with yukhei sitting in the driver's seat.

i spun around and jumped up and down out of pure excitement. jaemin gave me a confused look, but my mind was too preoccupied about yukhei to care. i rushed over to the bathroom, sliding past jaemin once again. i quickly fetched my purse and checked to make sure everything i needed was inside. i glanced at the mirror one last time, ensuring that i looked alright, before hurrying out of the bathroom and grabbing a pair of heels.

i noticed jaemin peer outside and raise a brow. he crossed his arms and clenched his jaw, heading over to me with a rather stern look on his face.

"who the hell is that?" he asked angrily.

i lifted my head and stared at him with a dumbfounded expression plastered onto my face. "i don't know," i mumbled while shrugging my shoulders, struggling to put on my heels.

"yujin, what the fuck," he swore, catching me off guard.

i bit my lip and stood up straight. i held my hands together nervously and began to contemplate whether i should finally come clean.

jaemin scoffed and shook his head and then turned around. before he could get far, i grabbed his arm and spun him back around. "okay, i'm sorry," i started, closing my eyes shamefully. "yukhei asked me on a date," i explained in a shaky voice.

i looked up to jaemin with a pouty face, and all he could do was stare back at me. i swore that i almost saw a tear form in his eye, but i ignored my observation and told myself i must've been seeing things. things were quiet for a while until jaemin mustered up a response.

"you mean the study buddy guy?" he questioned with annoyance.

"uh, yeah..." i replied, finally letting go of his arm to scratch the back of my head.

our conversation was cut short by another beep, causing me to look towards the window again. "i better get going," i told jaemin while backing away from him.

"you're really going to get into a car with some guy who beeps?" he queried.

all i could do was nod and smile. "yes."

"well, whatever. just be safe," jaemin sighed, heading over to his bed. he lied down and roughly turned over, so that his back was facing me.

i shook my head gently before spinning around and opening the front door. i took one last glance at jaemin and then headed out. my thoughts were racing while i walked to yukhei's car. i tried to push them away but failed miserably. i picked up my pace and eventually made it to the vehicle.

i quickly swung open the car door and was immediately met with yukhei's sharp gaze. he smirked at me and bit his lip. "you look good," he commented. i gave him a meek smile as blush appeared on my cheeks. "well, what are you waiting for? get in," yukhei stated and gestured me to sit. i got in the car briskly and let out a small laugh. yukhei winked at me, causing me to shake my head and look out the car window. my mood suddenly dampened though, as when i did, i noticed jaemin staring at me through the dorm window. a frown formed on my face, and all i could do was sit in thought as yukhei began to drive away.

A/N: hahahaha,, oh yujin. any guesses as to where this is going next?
