Ava's POV

Thursday Night Smackdown

I was sitting on a crate near the curtain waiting for my match. Stephanie had scheduled a match for me, but she never told me who my opponent was. I fiddled around with my fingers as I was waiting. I heard some footsteps walking toward me, causing me to look up.

"Hey there, princess."

I rolled my eyes and scoffed.

"What do you want Randy?" I said annoyingly.

"Steph told me that you had a match tonight. So I'm here to escort you down to the ring as your valet." He replied with a grin.

"Uh, no thanks. I don't need anyone to escort me to my match. I can handle myself just fine." I argued.

My music hit, so I jumped off of the crate and walked to the Gorilla. I appeared on the top of the ramp as the crowd boo'ed me.

This is a Diva's Match, set for one fall. Introducing first, being accompanied by Randy Orton, from Union City, New Jersey,  Ava Lee!

I turned around and Randy was standing behind me with a smug look on his face. I rolled my eyes and continued my way down the ramp.

This guy's never gonna learn how to leave me alone. I thought.

I slid into the ring and sat on the top turnbuckle with narrowed eyes, waiting for my opponent. My eyes widened in shock as Isa's music blasted throughout the arena. Next to her, stood Dean, with no emotion whatsoever.

And her opponent, being accompanied by Dean Ambrose, from Union City, New Jersey,  Avalon!!

Isa rushed down to the ring, making me slide out in fear. I never thought I would be scared of my own best friend. Randy walked over to me and put an assuring hand on my shoulder, earning a glare from Dean.

"You got this." Randy whispered into my ear. I nodded then slid back into the ring. Isa looked at me with narrowed eyes that were full of hatred.

Fine, if she hates me that much, so be it.

The bell rung and I immediately charged at Isa, catching her by surprise. I knocked Isa off of her feet and delivered a series of punches, left and right.

"Ava's a little feisty tonight." Cole commented.

The ref pulled me off of her,as he checked up on Isa. I paced around as I waited impatiently. I stepped forward but the ref started yelling at me.

"Get back, Ava!" He commanded. I put my hands up in defense and backed off.

I stood in the corner and waited. At ringside, Dean and Randy were having some intense stare off. I shrugged it off and looked back at the ref and Isa. She was back on her feet, and I went at her once again.

Isa dodged the clothesline I was planning to give her,and instead, she hit me with a dropkick. I got back up only to be met with a clothesline. I clutched my throat as Isa began to stomp on me.

"You can see the anger building up in Avalon." Jerry pointed out. That's when it hit me.

Anger has always been Isa's weakness. I thought.

The ref backed her up, allowing me to catch my breath. I stood up and  Isa charged at me but I slipped out of the way and slammed her head into the turnbuckle. I rolled her up for the win.

My hand was raised by the ref as Randy slid into the ring with me. Then the next thing I knew, Randy was being attacked to the ground by, guess who? Yep, Dean. Of course. I pried Dean off of Randy and he looked at me intensely.

"What the hell Dean!? Are you being serious right now?" I screeched at him.

"What?" He scoffed. "So now, you're buddies with Orton? I thought you never gave a damn about him. What the hell happened to you? We were supposed to take down The Authority together." He gestured to me and himself.

I stayed silent and shook my head. "You still don't get it, do you?"

I looked away and slipped out if the ring. Randy was following close behind me. I turned around one more time to look back at Dean. He still had that same hurt look on his face. The same look he had on RAW.  Part of me wanted to run up to him and hug him to death. But the other part was telling me that this was for his own good.

"Come on," Randy said, "He's not worth it."

I nodded and followed him, disappearing backstage.

Randy was wrong.

Dean was worth it.

"You did amazing out there." Nikki commented as I walked into the diva's locker room.

"I agree. You killed it." Reby said with a smile.

"Thanks," I shrugged, "I guess."

"Hey Reby and I were planning to go out to a local bar and get a few drinks. Do you wanna tag along?" Nikki offered.

"Uh no thanks. I'm good." I replied shaking my head.

"Oh come on, Ava. Don't be such a party pooper." Reby teased.

"Sorry, just not feeling it tonight. Maybe another time I'll come along."

"You always say that." Nikki pointed out, "And you never commit to it."

I chuckled. "Well, I'm very sorry for my poor effort in commitments"

"Last call." Reby sang.

"I'm not going. You two go have fun. I'll be fine." I assured.

"Well, okay. See you later then." Nikki said waving. She and Reby left, leaving me the only one in the locker room.

I opened up my suitcase to pull out a couple of clothes for me to wear. A small strip of jewelry fell out. I bent down and picked it up. I sighed as I noticed the familiar engraving that was made into it. The jewelry was the necklace that Dean had given me. I read the words one more time: I love you to the moon and back.

I searched through my bag and found a small box. I placed the necklace inside and closed it. I quickly got dressed and grabbed my stuff. On my way out of the arena, I passed by The Shield's locker room. The door was wide open. I stepped in and nobody was there. The only things that were in there was a couple of suitcases and bags. I took out the small box that held the necklace out if my pocket. I opened the box up and stared at the necklace, then took it out.

I planted a kiss on the pendant and put it back into the box. I hesitantly set the box down on a bench near Dean's stuff.
I touched the box one last time then left the room silently.

Dean can't possibly love me now. I mean  especially since I did those horrible things to him.

I can't let my past get the best of me.

It's time to start a new me.
