Chapter 40: Wedding Bells

Today was the day. Today was Aj's day.
Isa, Vivianna, Aj, and I were all in a room together waiting for everyone to arrive.

Aj was in her wedding dress looking in the mirror. Vivianna was in her flower girl dress, picking off the petals of flowers and putting them in a basket. Isa and I were in our dresses. Isa was checking her makeup, while I was searching through my bag for my glasses.

"Are you seriously gonna wear your glasses?" Isa asked with a laugh.

"Yeah. There's nothing wrong with them anyway. Plus, I ran out of contacts." I said taking them out. I slipped them on and sighed in relief.

That's better. I thought.

"You look cute in them to be honest." Aj said. I laughed and thanked her.

"I'll go check if everyone is here." I spoke and walked out of the room. I walked down the stairs and walked outside to where the assembly was gonna be held.

"Ava! Oh my god, you look beautiful!" Brie exclaimed as she saw me.

I smiled,"Thanks. Is everyone here? Is Nikki here?"

"Everyone is here, except Nikki. She told me that there would be too much drama and tension between you the two of you if she came." Brie replied.

"It's a wedding! Even if I wanted to be mad at her, I couldn't because it's Aj's wedding. Everyone has to be happy." I said.

"I tried telling her that, but Nikki didn't listen."

I sighed. "Okay then. I should go, everyone is taking their seats."

Brie nodded and went our seperate ways. I climbed the stairs and opened the door to the room where the girls were.

Aj looked up at me and I smiled.

"It's time."

She nodded and we piled out of the room. Isa and I grabbed our bouquets of flowers and walked out first. I saw my dad and gave him a quick hug.

"You girls look gorgeous." He commented giving both of us a hug.

"Thanks Mr. Mendez. You cleaned up quite well yourself." Isa joked.

Dad chuckled, "Thank you Isabella."

Isa and I walked side by side to the little curtain that was covering up the entrance. I took in a deep breath and gently pulled back the curtain. Marry your Daughter softly played as everyone stood up. Isa and I walked down the aisle together, with a smile on our faces. Everyone turned to look at us and my face went to a bright red.

Isa and I took our places near the altar. Vivianna came out next dropping a few flower petals here and there. I smiled at her and she stuck her tongue at me. A couple of people in the crowd chuckled. Vivianna took her spot in front of me and Isa.

Then Aj came out. Her arm was linked around dad's arm. She had a permanent smile plastered on her face. Aj walked down the aisle not taking her eyes off of Phil. They stopped at the foot of the altar.

"Phil will you please retrieve your bride, and escort her to the altar." The priest said.

Phil stepped down and gave my dad a quick hug before taking Aj's hand and leading her to the altar.

"We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, the joining of two hearts and to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite this couple in marriage." The priest said.

He continued.  "Today we have come together to witness the joining of these two lives. For them, out of the routine of ordinary life, the extraordinary has happened. They met each other, fell in love and are finalizing it with their wedding. A good marriage must be created. It is never being too old to hold hands. It’s remembering to say I love you every day and it is not just marrying the right person its being the right partner."
