Chapter 57:: The Unexpected

Ava's POV

Time skip

Smackdown -Backstage-

I sat down on a metal crate, deep in my thoughts.

'Three more days until Extreme Rules.' I thought.

'Three more days until I lose my job.'

'Three more days until I win the Divas Championship.'

'Three more days until I'm free from The Authority.'

'Three more days until everything can go back to the way it was. Hopefully.'

"Hey, are you okay?"

I looked up and smiled lightly. Dean walked over to me and sat down on the crate that I was sitting on.

"Never been better." I said with a sigh.

"Don't tell me you're putting yourself down again." Dean said nudging me.

"Maybe.."

"Ava, what did I tell you about putting yourself down?"

"You didn't really say anything about putting myself down. I only recall you saying that crying is not a weakness."

"It doesn't matter." Dean said. "If you keep putting yourself down, you won't fight like you used to. You'll just get frustrated and you won't think straight. And that will hurt you come Extreme Rules."

I sighed."I know...I'm just scared."

"Don't be. Just remember that I'll be right behind that curtain." Dean assured.

"You will?" I asked surprised.

"Yeah," He said with a smile. "I always have. Even when you were in The Authority."

"Wow...I-I never thought you did that.. Thanks."

Dean shrugged and gave me a smile. I haven't seen that smile for a long time. I would always see Dean smile like that when we were together. Ever since WrestleMania, I never got to see that smile. But I'm glad I did now. It made my night a whole lot better.

"Well I guess I'll be behind that curtain for your match too." I said smiling down at my hands.

"That would be great. I appreciate that. Thank you." He said looking at me.

I looked back up at him. "Well consider it as a repayment since you're always there for me, even though I never knew you were."

"Why wouldn't I be? I'll always be here for you." He said taking my hand

"Well I mean, ever since I aligned myself with The Authority I felt like every one has given up on me. Like, they didn't care anymore. It's just a little unexpected, you know?" I said as he squeezed my hand.

"I would never give up on you. You know that." Dean said.

"Yeah, but the last time you said that, we ended getting separated.." I muttered looking away from him.

"Ava, it wasn't like that." He protested.

I sighed and still ignored him. "I should go...."

I hopped down from the crate and began to walk away from him.

'This wasn't right.' I thought. 'He has a girlfriend. He has Renee.'

I felt a hand on my shoulder making me turn around. I sighed as I saw that it was Dean.

"Dean not I don't hav-" I began to say but he had already crashed his lips against mine.

Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me, deepening the kiss. Then I snapped back into reality. I pulled back and stumbled backwards away from Dean.
