chapter 23

Casey's POV

I sat on the table as I waited for the doctor to come in and finish his examination. As I sat on this table, I thought about my current predicament; not knowing who the father of my child is. Worrying about tomorrow and the outcome of the situation. I would prefer for Ja'Zyion to be her father because I know that he will take good care of her, no matter what. Khadarious is only looking to make a profit.

The doctor walked in, shaking me from my thoughts. "Ok, Casey, from your test results I highly am advising you to try and lower your stress levels, or I'm going to have to put you on bed rest. Also, the baby is breached."

"I don't want to be on bed rest, that's like putting me on house arrest. I can't be on bed rest. Nuh uh, that just ain't gone work for me. This ain't that type of party Dr. Parker." I cannot believe he really just said that shit. I know I've been stressing out lately but I thought I was okay. I don't want time put the baby at risk but I, I just don't know. "If I can control my stress levels will that help? Why is she breached?" I asked him getting emotional. "Well you being stressed causes stress on her, that we don't want nor need at all. So you need to control it or risk being put on bed rest and hospitalized until the birth. Her being breached is very common, sometimes the baby will Turn on it's own, we can turn her, or you can have a c-section." He said sitting on the side of me. "Whatever is best for her, that's what we'll do. She comes first, no matter what" I told him sitting up looking at my vibrating phone. After he checked on the baby and I got to hear her heartbeat he cleaned my stomach off and I headed home.

I was starving but I knew that Brianna was coming by soon so I guess I'll wait on her to eat and I'll just have a small snack.

"Cass" I kept hearing by name as I slept. I opened by eyes to see Ja'Zyion smiling at me with a ice cream cone in one hand and a bag of sour cream and onion chips in the other. "You love me don't you?" I asked him, he knows this is my favorite snack lately. "Yes, I love my baby momma" he said as I laughed. "Zy, you know damn well I don't like that baby momma bullshit, she's the mother of your child" Brianna said walking into the room sitting on my bed. "My bad" he said as she began rubbing my stomach. I really don't want to have this conversation, but I need to be honest with them both, because if anything ever happened to me it would be up to Ja'Zyion to take care of and provide for our child, and clearly Brianna is here to stay so she deserves to know as well.

"What's wrong" he she asked me looking down at her phone. "Huh?" I asked puzzled as to why she asked. "You look worried and you're unusually quiet tonight" Brianna said looking over at me.

"I need to be honest with you guys" when I looked around all eyes were on me, so I took that as my cue to continue. "First I had a doctors appointment today, don't yell, I know I didn't tell y'all, but it was last minute. Basically I'm way to stressed out and I'm causing stress to the baby. On top of that she's currently breached and the doctor is talking about possibly putting me on bed rest if I can't control by stress levels." By the look on Ja'Zyion face I already know he about to go off. "I don't need a doctor to tell me nothing, I'm putting you on bed rest myself. Until your next appointment to prove your stress levels are normal again you will not lift a finger, bottom line." He said and I had no reason to argue.

"Secondly we need to discuss Khadarious." I took a deep breath because I wasn't ready to talk about it, but I had no other choice. "The reason he came by here the other day was because he's been to a few of your games and he saw you on the news. They were talking about Azure's case and they mentioned that three major NBA teams were ready to sign you, but it was undetermined who you were going to go with. He came here to threaten me. He wants to set you up & rob you. His plan was to get a secrete DNA test done, if it turns out she isn't yours he said to tell you it wasn't. He was going to make a fake copy to show to prove that you're the father and once you get signed and you move away and take us with you Thaddeus he'd rob you blind. I wouldn't agree to that shit and that's when he got mad. He's been calling me nonstop and texting me and he even flattened my damn tires. I had to buy 4 new tires earlier. He also threatened the baby. He said he'll kill me and her before he let me live and he not get paid" I told him with tears streaming down my face. Ja'Zyion came close to me and pulled me into his lap holding me and rubbing my back. "You're coming to stay with me and Bri. I do not feel safe with having you in the house alone with him threatening you. I would  never let anything happen to you or my child. I told you from jump, I don't give a fuck with a damn piece of paper say, that is my daughter, bottom line, do you understand me?" He said looking into my eyes. "Yes" I said looking at him. "Good, and don't worry about him, I will take care of that fuck nigga babygirl" he said kissing my forehead.

Sometimes I feel so stupid for cheating on him. I really fucked up a good thing. But it just wasn't meant to be, Ja'Zyion deserved somebody better, he deserved Brianna. Now I'm just worried, I don't want or need anything to happen to him before I have this baby.
