chapter 38

Brianna's POV (later that same day . . .)

I woke up in a hospital, body sore. I am in the worst pain ever right now. The first thing I laid my eyes on was Ja'Zyion right by my side looking uncomfortable, fast asleep in a chair next to my bed, gripping the cover that was on top of me. My room was completely full of flowers, cards, and teddy bears. Khadarious only had me for a few days, Azure has been missing for months. I can't imagine how she delt with it. I'm just happy to be safe, away from Khadarious.

I placed my hand on top of Ja'Zyion hand, just wanting to touch him, be closer to him. "Baby?" He said still sounding sleepy as he lifted his head.

"Yes baby?" I said smiling at him with tears in my eyes.

"Brianna baby, I missed you so much man. I was going insane without you. I couldn't kiss you, fall asleep with you in my arms, wake up to you. I missed your smile, I missed your cooking hell" he said causing me to smile even harder. "Baby i-" he started to say as there was a knock on the door. "Knock knock" a doctor said coming into the room. "Is this a bad time?" He asked looking at Ja'Zyion. "Nawl, you good doctor Smith" he said standing up shacking his hand. He shock his head and turned his attention to me while he sat at the edge of my bed. "Brianna I am your doctor, Vincent Smith. When you were brought into the hospital earlier you were very emotional, which is understandable, considering the situation. In addition, we treated you for dehydration, scaring, broken ribs, and severe bleeding in the vaginal area.

We've treated you for your dehydration & we have you on pain killers through your iv for pain. I am sorry to also inform you that the bleeding was due to a miscarriage. You were three months pregnant. We recommend that you wait six to eight weeks before trying to conceive again. Again I am sorry for your lost. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to press that button there & your nurse will be right in. I'll give you guys a moment alone" he said standing up to walk out of the room.

"Baby I'm so sorry baby" Ja'Zyion said tears forming in his eyes as he climbed into the hospital bed with me. "We can get through this. As soon as you're healed, feeling better & ready, we can try again. You & me against the world right?" He said kissing me softly. Before I could even say anything his phone started ringing, from the tone, I knew it was Casey. "Hold on baby" he said standing up. Even though he wasn't next to me, all I could hear was yelling from the other end of the call. "Okay, okay, okay, call my mom, I'm in my way now. Just told tight, I got you. " he said hanging up his phone, grabbing his jacket & rental car keys. "Casey is in labor, I'm so sorry to leave right now, but she's alone & scared" he said holding my hand, no, it's okay, I understand. I'll call later" i told him faking a smile.

Ja'Zyion POV

Its been three days since my daughter was born. I took one look at Aubrey Alyse and knew hands down that she was mines, I'm not even going to do an DNA test at all, fuck it. I don't need a paper to tell me that she's mines. She has my eyes that run in my family, my dimples, my texture hair, and my ears. My precious baby girl is most definitely my blood, ain't no way around it. Since she's come into this world I've been right by her side.

Aubrey was born at 4:30am weighing 6 pounds even. My Mom, Jermaine, Bobby, and Karleynah came to visit her.

Today, I am so excited, today is the day that we get to take my baby girl home. Casey has been doing so great with her, she's a natural.

I've talked to Brianna but she's been kind of distant with me. I want to understand, but then again I wanna be pissed because she isn't trying to be there for me. I'm heartbroken that we list our child together, but I cried for two days straight, I realized my tears won't bring back that child. All we can do is love on Aubrey and try again when she's ready. I just wish she would be there for me. She hasn't even been responding to my messages for the last few hours and I know she's not sleep. I don't know what's going on, but I miss my girlfriend, my partner in crime, my best friend, my soulmate.
