School got out early since it was the first day back which was awesome. Everyone was heading home or heading to their after-school clubs or sports. Will was at his locker getting some things he needed he got a text from his uncle saying come home. We need to talk. Someone shoved him from behind and while he used to fall straight into his locker, this time he stood his ground. He turned and saw it was Reggie.

"Strange. Look at who grew up over the summer? I honestly didn't believe it until I saw it with my own eyes. So, you finally got plastic surgery to make yourself look normal." Reggie joked as Moose and the others laughed. Nearby students began to watch which included Josie, Jughead, Ethel, and Kevin. Honestly, even after an entire summer Reggie was still an idiot. "So, tell me how invasive the surgery was? They didn't snip anything down below, right?"
"Mantle if your grade school humor is trying to joke that a plastic surgeon gave me an involuntary sex change then you really need to update your material. Seriously, at least give me something worth chuckling at. I don't think you're even getting a rise out of the bystanders and that's just sad." Will shot back as he closed his locker. His little diss caused them all to laugh and pissed Reggie off so he grabbed Will by the backpack and slammed him into his locker.
"What the hell did you say, Strange? Don't think that just because you got tall over the summer that I can't still kick your ass." Mantle warned him. Will was tempted to use his new martial arts skills but decided it wasn't worth it. Maybe soon but not now. Soon enough the Principal walked by so Mantle quickly let go.
"What's going on here?" Principal Weatherbee asked.
"Nothing, sir. Just helping Strange with his backpack." Mantle told him.
"Keep it moving. All of you." Principal Weatherbee said as everyone left. Mantle gave another shoulder shove to Will as he and his friends left for football practice.
"Will, you ok?" Josie asked as she walked over.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Nothing I haven't had to deal with before." Will assured her.
"God, when will that idiot learn." Valerie added.
"It's fine, Val. Anyways, I've got to head out. Jughead, do you need a ride to Pop's?" Will asked.
"Yeah, that'd be great." Jughead said as they got into his car and left.
After school, Betty and Veronica both made the team despite Cheryl's attempts to drive Betty away given the bad blood that occurred between their siblings. Luckily, it was Veronica to the rescue. Betty was a little surprised that Veronica would come to her rescue because she knew the kind of person she was in New York which led them to the track field and to Veronica pouring her heart out.
