Sanctum Sanctorum, New York City

Will and Wong appeared via Sling Ring portal in the New York Sanctum main foyer. They saw a few Sorcerers quickly moving through to get to where they needed to get through when they heard some footsteps come down the stairs. It was Master Daniel Drumm, master sorcerer and guardian/caretaker of the New York Sanctum.

"Master Wong, young William. Welcome back." Master Drumm bowed his head and they bowed back.

"Master Drumm."

"What brings you to the Sanctum Sanctorum? If I remember you returned to safeguard your hometown from the Church of the Night." Master Drumm said.

"We did and it is for the moment. But I wanted to come and pull my weight around the Sanctum." Will told him. "I'm truly grateful for all of you in teaching me and safeguarding mankind. I wanted to do what I can to help things around the Sanctum."

Master Drumm smiled at Will's eagerness to help. "That is much appreciated. I'll admit that we have been rather busy. Things are...more frequent then normal."

"Frequent how?" Wong wondered.

"Normally, we would deal with a few assignments a month to help keep mankind safe. Wayward spirits, poltergeists, or a werewolf and vampire who is gathering a body count and such but lately things have been increasing. Now we have over a dozen cases a week, leaving our sorcerers shorthanded and busy." Master Drumm explained. "It's been happening all over the world. Something has the mystic world in flux."

"When did you start to notice things were escalating?" Will asked.

"During the summer." Master Drumm replied as Will looked at Wong.

"About the same time my dad's protective charm wore off and I started my training. Doesn't sound like a coincidence." Will stated. "Do you think I had something to do with this?"

"Not on purpose but the mystical world is about balance." Wong stated.

"Yes. A new protector, the son of the Sorcerer Supreme blessed by the Vishanti manifesting his powers, evil will have felt that power and acted accordingly." Master Drumm added.

"Guess that means we'll be busy, and I can't sit on the sidelines. How can I help?" Will asked and Master Drumm led him to his first task. He helped clean and catalog the library, cleaned the training rooms, dusted, and cleaned the collected occult objects in the gallery and prepared food for everyone. All of this seemed menial, but it freed up the other sorcerers to be able to train or take on assignments.

That led Will to one of the most important rooms in the Sanctum, the Window of the Worlds. Decorated and protected by the Seal of the Vishanti, the Window of the World was how the Sorcerers were able to protect mankind from mystical threats by actually locating them. It was built by one of the previous masters who held the title of Sorcerer Supreme, even before the Ancient One. It was essentially a magical radar that could pick up the unique magical, mystical, demonic, and other worldly energies left behind by everything abnormal and paranormal that crossed into their world. From ghosts, poltergeists, and evil spirits to vampires, werewolves, ghouls, banshees, and demons. There was a Window of the Worlds at each of the three Sanctum: the one in New York, the one in London, and the one in Hong Kong and it helped the sorcerers do their job.
