When I got to school, I just took out my phone and decided to reply to the 'unknown' number that messaged me. 'Very funny.' Isabella, my only friend, decided to prank me like she always does. "Hmmm.. Did you get a message?" She said coming up to me laughing. "Ha-ha, very funny." I said sarcastically. "Lighten up, you potato sack. Did you do the Math homework?" She asked. "Yes. We all had too." I replied. She gave me a look. "It's in my bag." I laughed. Isabella immediately took out my Math book and started copying my work. "Oh by the way, there's a new kid in our class. He's in our class so we should be nice." Isabella laughed. "Uh uh. I know where you're going. You think he's 'cute', am I right?" I smirked. "No, no I promise. I just think, we should make new friends as well." She said. "Of course, we can. We've got to get into class now. What do we have first?" I asked. "English." She replied sulking. "Yes! Perfect." "Ughhh" Isabella groaned. "Bella, it'll be fun! I promise I'll help you, just don't laugh too much." I giggled. 'I'm sure you'll help me." She said nudging me and laughing.
"So, therefore we like to use much larger words in our narratives." Mr Gordan said. "Boring.." Isabella whispered. "Shush. He'll hear you." I said. "Now, I'd like you all to write a small narrative about love. Romance is what we are focusing on, this semester." Mr Gordan continued. "Any questions?" He asked. "When is this due?" I asked. "Next month, so get working kids. You'll have time in class to work on this. However this will also be an activity at home as well." Mr Gordan explained. He then smiled and said "I'll see you all tomorrow."
"That was unbelievably boring. How am I supposed to create a narrative?" Isabella complained. "I told you, I'll help. Except I'm not sure how to write for myself." I explained. "What do you mean?" Isabella asked. "Bella, for me to write about a specific topic I need ideas. I don't like love. Or Romance, it's like...icky." I explained. "Awh, I love romance, although I don't like writing. Super boring." Isabella laughed. I rolled my eyes and laughed. Bella nudged me when she said "Look! There he is." "Who?" I asked. "The new kid! Come on! Let's introduce ourselves." She said dragging me over. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Typical Isabella." I laughed.
We walked over to the boy. "Hi! My name is Isabella, you can call me Bella. This is my best friend, Valentina, or Val." Isabella said pulling her hand out to fist bump him. "Hi. I'm Jae." He said smiling and fist bumping her back. He turned to me and fist bumped me as well. "You just moved here?" I asked. "Yeah. It's actually quite different to where I'm from. I'm from Melbourne." He replied.
