Later that night, I was watching a movie in my room with Jude. When I got the thought. I could write my story on Nana. Nana and I's relationship had to do with romance, or love. Our love was special. I called Isabella and told her my idea. "Well, you do have a point, but what if Mr Gordan meant love like, marriage." Isabella tried to explain. "Oh well. I don't care. This could be a good story I have in mind." I explained. I then called Jae and told him. "That sounds cool. Maybe on the weekend, you can come over and tell my sister your ideas." Jae suggested. "I mean if she's not busy." I replied.
The next morning, I didn't go to school. Jude didn't want to leave his friends hanging so he went to school. I decided to watch some tv, when I got a message from an unknown number. The message read:
Hey Val, It's Mads. Jae's sister. How are you?I had no idea why she had texted me but I decided to reply.
Val: Hi Mads, I'm good thank you. How are you?
Mads: Im alright thanks. So, I'm able to get together this weekend, are you?
Val: Oh yeah for sure. Would you like me to come over?
Mads: Yes please. Come around 12 to my place. Bring Bella, she's welcome to come along.
Val: Alright then thank you. I'll let her know.I was nervous to meet Maddie. She's really good at writing, like a professional. I'm not that good. After dinner, I rang Isabella. "How are you feeling now?" Isabella asked worriedly. "Better, I guess. Still hurting, but a little bit better." I replied. "It'll get better I promise. I'm here for you. Whenever you need me." She continued. "You know that." After a while of talking about Nana's death, I decided to ask if there was any other homework. "Just Math and English from Wednesday." Isabella replied. "I got a message from Jae's sister today. She told me to bring you for lunch. I'll be showing her some of my work." I explained. "Oh awesome! I'll hang out with Jae while you two, just look at work." She giggled.
"Morning. I thought I'd wake you up." My Mum said coming in. "Mum it's 3:30 in the morning, let me sleep." I groaned. "You weren't sleeping though. What are you doing love? Go to bed. I can hear you crying." My Mum said sitting on my bed. "I just, I just can't sleep. Why are you awake?" I asked. "I miss my mother." My Mum said crying. "Oh Mum, me too. I miss her so much. I can't sleep because all I can do is think about her." I said facing the window trying to hide my tears. My Mum sat down next to me also facing the window. "When I was a little girl, we used to watch the stars and choose which one was the brightest one. Which ever was the brightest one, was your star forever. Your good luck star." She smiled. I felt her tears falling onto my hand. "And when I was a baby, I used to lay on her chest and listen to her heartbeat." She said. "I just had a thought." She said pausing. I looked up at her. "It's silly." She said looking away. "Come on, you can tell me." I replied smiling. "It's funny, see we can control when we want to have children, but we can't control when someone dies." She said holding my hand tightly. It took me a minute to find out my heart had perished, but not as much as my Mother's. I took her hand and kissed it. From then on, we just watched the night.
The next morning, I got ready to go to Jae's house. I was going to ride my bike there, since I take my bike everywhere. Jae opened the door and smiled. "Hi there." "Hey." I smiled back. Isabella waved at me. I waved back. "I just wanted to let you know, I can't stay for lunch." I said coming inside. "Oh, why not?" Maddie asked waving. "Oh hi Mads! I can't because I'm going out for lunch with my Mum." I explained. I gave Maddie and Isabella a hug and sat down at the table. "Jae, let's go upstairs. I want to see your room." Isabella said. "Alright let's go." Jae replied. Jae and Isabella went upstairs, while Maddie and I were downstairs at the dining table. "So, this is all your work?" She asked. "Yeah. I brought my favourite stories only. The rest are all horrible." I explained. "Oh you shouldn't have! I could of given you tips on how you've improved." Maddie groaned giggling a bit. "Sorry." I apologised. "Anyway, your English assignment is on romance?" Maddie asked. "Yeah, and I have no clue what to do for it. I don't like romance as a topic for books. See, I like to write about my experiences, I just create other characters." I explained. Maddie just listened and nodded. "So, I guess I've never written about romance because- "Maddie cut me off, "Because you've never been in love."
