"You're home." My Dad called. "Sit down." My mum said. I sat down at the table. My Mum brought in warm milk and cookies for me. "We haven't told Jude yet." My Dad said. "What's going on?" I asked. "Today, we went to go and visit Nana." My Dad continued. "And she was in bed." "When we went to go wake her up she wasn't waking up." My Mum explained. "We felt her pulse, and she wasn't breathing" My Dad said, falling tears from his eyes. "What happened to Nana?" I asked. "Let me finish."  Dad said. "We called an ambulance, and they said it's too late." My Dad explained. I gasped. My entire body just burned. I immediately ran to my room and just lay on my bed crying. My Dad tried to follow me, but my Mum stopped him. My whole body had just collapsed.

When my brother got home, my parents explained to him what had happened. He was really upset too. My parents decided to let us take a day off tomorrow, as they did as well. Both my parents had to go to work, so Jude and I were home alone. All day I was stuck in my room. Crying, until I was too numb to cry. 'Why did this happen to me? To her. Why did she have to go? It's not fair.' "Val? Can I stay in here with you?" Jude asked coming into my room. "Yeah, of course. Stay as long as you need too." I replied. Jude got onto my bed, and lay on my chest. I felt tears falling on my shirt. 'BING'  It was Isabella. She wanted to know why I was absent from school. I usually never take days off unless it's a family issue, or if Jude or I am really ill. My brother sat up. His eyes were really red. "Why did this happen?" Jude asked. "I- I don't know bug. Her heart just stopped." I replied. "Why?" He asked. "I don't know J. I know it's hard, but I promise she's watching over us." I said and hugged him tightly.

When my parents got home, they were going to go to a funeral home to go and look for a spot for Nana. Jude and I didn't want to go. We had faced too much pain that day. I decided to ring Isabella and Jae to come over, while we were alone. "What happened! Why weren't you at school?" Isabella asked worriedly. "Nana died." I started to cry. Jae and Isabella came to hug me. "Oh I'm so sorry V" Jae said. Isabella stayed still. She got teary. Isabella had known Nana as well. From when we were little. "When? How? Why? How's Jude? Is he oka-" Jae cut Isabella off. "B let her explain." "She died yesterday afternoon. Well, Mid-day when my parents went to visit her. I guess she went to bed, thinking she will wake up but she didn't." I explained. "And Jude?" Isabella asked. "Jae, Jude is my little brother." I explained. Jae nodded. "He was really upset. Last night he slept with me. Crying on my chest." I explained. "Is he here?" Isabella asked. "Yeah, he's in his room." I replied. Isabella got up to go to visit Jude for a bit. Jude loves Isabella, like another big sister. Jae stayed with me. "Well, we missed you today." Jae smiled. "Thanks. Any homework?" I asked. "No. Just the English homework. How did you go with the writing? Any ideas from Maddie's work?" Jae asked. "Yeah. It's really good. I think I might get some tips before I write anything though." I explained. Jae just nodded and hugged me.

My parents got home, and yet again they wanted to talk to my brother and I. My Mum brought out dinner for us to eat. "Your favourite." She smiled. "Kids, we wanted you to come with us to find a spot for Nana." Dad blurted out. My brother and I stayed quiet. "Please?" 'You want us to just heal? Jeez. We need time.' "Mum, Dad. We need time. Nana literally just died two days ago, and you want us to go and look for spots for a funeral? Very caring of you." I said with attitude. "No, no. Usually when someone dies you have a funeral." My Mum explained. "I know! But not two days later. It's like a week later." I called. I ran up to my room and started to cry. After a while, I just stared outside my window. My eyes were numb, my heart perished, and there were no more tears left. Jude came into my room and came to hug me. "They said it's a good funeral home." Jude said. "I don't care. Death isn't something that you think about for one day and it's over with. It cant go on for so long." I explained. Jude nodded. He hugged me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
