The Third Strand//9-1-1 lonestar x Reader

𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭

Y/n hadn't been assigned to a new firehouse yet, every one else on the 126 fire squad had but her. They were trying to find a spot for her to go to and hopefully in the next week she would have one. Plus her dad wanted her to stay back from working after being trapped during the fire, since TK was off of a job as well cap thought it was best.  The girl had just been spending her time trying to figure out things that fire houses around could do to reduce money to help pay for the damage that was done to the 126 firehouse. She now understood what it felt like for her dad when he had to stay home from work after surgery.  Y/n had been looking at this stuff all day, she finally looked up from it all when her phone began to ring, she answered it quickly seeing that it was her dad

"Hey, I won't be home for lunch so if you want I'll order your favorite from that place near where I told you I was this morning if you wanna come pick it up"

"Uh yeah sure I'll be over there in a few" y/n says standing up, she knew her dad was with bully today and her father knew she didn't like him so he wanted her to see that he had changed

"Okay, I'll have your food here ready for you"

"Okay bye dad, love you" the girl said putting on her shoes

"Bye love you, drive safe"

"I will" the girl hung up before going out to her car

The girl got out of her car and parked it, the wind began to pick up blowing her jacket around. She arrived at the table her dad and Billy were to see them standing up, she looked where they were and saw the dust covering the buildings. I guess those fries would have to wait until later.

"Dust storm!" Billy says looking at the two

"Everybody get inside! Inside, come on!" Cap calls out to them, tables and chair began to knock over around them. Owen instinctively grabbed should of y/n's arm so she wouldn't get lost. She didn't have any gear on but her jacket which she only wore because if the breeze. Y/n looked at her dad before unlinking her arm with his so she could help ithers

"Ma'am, you got to get inside." She tells a girl who was looking around widly

"No, my daughter. She was playing right there. And I w... I looked down for one second."

"I'll go look for her." Y/n tells her before begining to look around for the small girl. She looked over and saw no one on the patio except the small girl calling out for her mom from under the table"come here sweetie I know where she is"

The girl took ahold of the younger ones hand and gave her over to Billy who helped her inside, y/n looked around not seeing her dad. She looked up at billy before speaking "where's my dad"

"Theres more people over there" billy points to the way her dad went, without another word she ran over to where he was quickly to help him

Y/n walked into the building with her dad he didn't want to leave her after what just happened, no matter how many times she told him she was okay.

"I see. All right, well, if you hear anything you, uh, let me know."

"What's going on?" Owen asks cheif

"Seems like the 129 lost an engine. Along with its crew." He explains

"What do you mean, lost?" Y/n asks worriedly knowing that Mateo was with the 129

"They were out on a call when the storm hit. No one can reach them." That was all y/n needed to hear before she began to walk away her dad following behind her
