ella was in love.

she was in love with a certain half kiwi half scottish boy. she had loved every single thing about calum. she loved his gorgeous brown eyes, his dark brown almost black hair, his cute nose, his soft lips, his hands, his tattoos, his jaw, his humour, his voice. she loved every single little thing about him. she was never able to say no to him. she didn't particularly like his group of friends (they weren't bad or anything but they just weren't the type of people she would normally hang out with) but she played nice with them just for him. they were the type of couple that made everyone pretend to gag because they were just so cute. but she held secrets deep in her heart. she was slowly revealing them to calum. her past self-harm, her family past, her love for him. but there was one that she was yet to tell calum but now she never would.

ella was pregnant.

she was pregant with calum's child that he would never know. she had no idea why she didn't tell him sooner or participated in the game that would most likely end her life. but she didn't think. ella usually did things without thinking. it had landed her in a lot trouble in the past but she thought that calum had helped stop that. obviously not.

because now ella was crumpled on the ground in one of the most awkward positions, slumped forward with a twisted neck, her blood leaking onto her jeans. her and her unborn child were both dead and neither would get a chance at life and calum would never get to know the family he could have had.

=+=+=

calum just stared at her.

he blinked away the tears and looked up at michael. he handed back the gun along with ella's. he didn't know why he wasn't crying or screaming or kicking or all three at once. he'd just lost his love in a stupid game of australian roulette. so why wasn't he crying?

the remaining teens were shocked that calum was holding it together so well. he loved ella with all of his heart and there was not even one tear on his cheek. they all cautiously handed back their guns, waiting for calum to crack. but he didn't. no one knew why but they were experiencing a sort of relief. they didn't have to deal with an emotional calum.

ashton shuffled over to calum and held his hand in his. calum near broke ashton's fingers with his grip but ashton didn't mind. his best friend needed him and he would be there for him.

the guns were passed out once again for round five. it was marie's turn to count.

"one." calum's knuckles had turned white as they wrapped around ashton's large hand.

"two." on the outside he was calm, but on the inside a volcano had gone off.

"three." six teenagers pulled their trigger, not knowing if they're safe for now or going to lodge a bullet in their brain.

bang.

the tight grip between calum and ashton loosened. michael sighed with relief as he wrote down the next name. he was waiting for one of the boys to die. too many girls had died already. the score had to even up a bit.

ashton.
