Rosie and I had fun teaching the girls again on Thursday. It was nice to have another basically normal practice.
But we had filming again on Tuesday. It was a little different this time. Ms. Menville told us that we should wear our normal jump rope clothes. We weren't going to wear our uniforms for every episode. She said to look natural.
We started out with a lot of jumping. Then Ms. Menville had us do some interviewing and acting. When it was my turn, she asked some interesting questions.
"Do you always get along with your teammates?" she asked. "Um... usually," I answered. "What about Rosie? Do you always get along with her?" "Yes, we haven't ever really fought," I continued. "Well, does anything about her ever bother you? What would you change about her?" she questioned. "Well," I said, suddenly feeling swell and selfish, "Sometimes I think Rosie is too nice. It's not like she goes for it, she's afraid she'll hurt someone's feelings. She's holding me back as her partner." As soon as I said that, I wanted to take it back. I felt bad, but then Ms. Menville starting asking me nice questions about myself. I sorta forgot that I said tha by the end of my interview.
Ms. Menville told us to be sassy and show off for the camera. She said, "Common girls, let's see some stuff. Don't be afraid to show some attitude!"
Then Lexi and Cara got into a sort of jump-off. Lexi did part of her single rope routine. It was really impressive. "Top that!" she said to Cara. Then Cara showed part of her routine. It was also really good. "You just got burned!" she said to Lexi when she was finished. Then Lexi did another part of her routine. It was amazing. "Oooo!" she said when she was done. Then Cara did a front flip. "Okay okay that's enough!" Coach Melissa said and stopped them before anyone got hurt.
Lexi and Cara were best friends and wouldn't get too competitive, but it was a good idea to stop them before things got personal.
We finished filming and then went home. I couldn't wait to watch our first episode on Thursday.
