I was sick on Tuesday. Bleh.
I was upset that I had to miss practice, but I got to miss school, too, and that wasn't too bad. And I got a chance to rest my arm, too.
I wasn't that sick though. I wasn't sick enough to not be able to help start putting Christmas decorations up. It was only the first week of December, but I was already excited for Christmas. I put up some decorations and drank some hot chocolate, but then I was tired and went to sleep.
I stayed home on Wednesday, too, because I was really tired. I slept for most of the day. But I dreamed of Christmas morning opening up a beautiful present. And guess what was inside? New jump rope shoes! But I was better on Thursday, so I went to school and then to practice.
Thursday the second episode came out. We weren't going to watch every episode at practice, but we decided to watch the second one.
The show started, and I was sitting with Rosie, McKenzie, and Lilah again. I was starting to become friends with them. I hope that they weren't too mad about the way that I treated them at first.
This episode was a little more interesting. But I could tell right away that they made us seem sassier than we really were.
They showed some interviews that seemed like they had been tweaked a little to make us seem like brats. Then they showed Lexi and Cara's jump-off.
They showed a bunch of other stuff, too.
And then my face popped up. I held my breath. I knew something bad was going to happen. And then I said something that I barely remembered saying, but once I heard it, I remembered the moment saying it. I said,
"Well, sometimes I think Rosie is too nice. It's not like she goes for it, she's afraid she'll hurt someone's feelings. She's holding me back as her partner."
Oh no. I could tell that Rosie was about to yell at me, when her face popped up on the screen.
"Julie doesn't try hard enough. She's not a good enough partner. I'm such a great jumper, but she's just a little girl. I mean, she's ten. She acts young, and you can see it in her jumping." My jaw dropped. Why would she said that about me! Well, Ms. Menville probably tricked her into saying it, but still!
I was about to start yelling, by some other people were still watching, so I grabbed Rosie by the arm and took her outside.
"Why did you say that about me!" I yelled.
"No, why did you say that about me?!?!" she responded in an equally as angry voice. "You said I was too nice!" she said. "Well I was obviously wrong, because you're too mean! You said I wasn't a good jumper!" I sassed. "But I just insulted your jumping. You insulted my attitude, which is more important!" she yelled. "But jumping is important to ME. I care about jump rope more than anything!!!" I screamed. "You said you didn't want me as a partner, and that's fine by me!" I said, "Go find yourself someone who's a good enough jumper for you!" Okay!" she replied, "Go find yourself someone mean. Someone who's not too nice!" "I will!" I answered. "I will too!" she responded.
I walked back inside. Wow. I had never fought with Rosie before. This was weird. But it was all her fault. She deserved it.
We both went back inside. My face was red with anger.
"Hey McKenzie!" I called. The episode was over by now, and everyone was back to jumping.
"Do you want to be my pairs partner?!?!" I called loud enough for Rosie to hear. "Sure," she said.
"Hey Lilah!" Rosie called. "Do you want to be my partner?!?!" she called. "Ok!" she answered.
And with those words, we each began our own pairs routines.
