Angelica's POV |

When his client finally came through, they had their little handshake, then the guy sat down. He wasn't too bad looking actually.

He gave me a few glances while biting his lip, kinda flirting with me, but I smiled to keep it professional.

"Alright, Marcus. You want this...right?" Vinnie asked while fetching for his sketchbook. When he opened the book I was able to catch a glimpse of the design.

It was a yellow-red sunset ocean set, but the sun was bloody. It was very questionable as to why he would pick this design. I'm sure it was obvious, but you sometimes have to be patient with me.

"Why this design? What does it mean to you?" I asked him, obviously curious.

"Because you can be a beautiful thing but can also originate from morbid places." He liked my interest in the tattoo.

"What about the snake around your neck?" surprisingly, Vinnie asked me while organizing his supplies in place.

This snake tattoo had a strong personal meaning to it. As much as I would've loved to open up about it, I didn't trust anybody yet.

"Oh, I was just stupid and decided to get a snake wrapped around my neck about two years ago, drunk." I lied and shrugged off the truth.

Vinnie nodded and they both began talking again. Since I've already performed tattoos on various people, I didn't need to learn much.

My situation before I began working here, was to move to a new tattoo shop and began making more money. Although I will say the tattoo shop I worked at before was pretty cool, that's where I met Carma.

HOURS LATER

"Can you hand me another stack of ripped paper towels?" Vinnie continued tracing Riko's arm. I nodded but when I handed Vinnie the towels, he paused from using the tattoo gun and faced his whole body at me. His coconut scent passively filled my nose like it did that night.

Vinnie's eyes looked down at me because of our height difference and that kinda made my kitty quiver. My eyes rapidly blinked and our eyes locked pretty hard. I tried to shake off my smile but I just created sexual tension with a guy I met 4 days ago. snap out of it Angelica.

Vinnie's POV |

Damn.

Angelica's eyes already caught me again just like she did that night. Her long eyelashes blinked together so aesthetically, and a slight smirk formed on her face. This could've been an awkward situation, but this somehow became sexual?

I was able to catch a wave of the detail of her face. I discovered a new tattoo on her ear, a blue heart that was halfway shaded in. But it's like a puzzle with this girl. Every time I look at her I find a new tattoo.

I quickly shook my head to snap out of it, and then I turned back around ignoring eye contact with her the whole way through. I felt her eyes watching me and my process, but I still didn't mess up.

A few more hours pass.

"All done Rik."

I gently hit the back of the chair before he stood up so we could deal out the payment. I sent Angelica a task to sweep for me while I handled business with Riko. However, As Riko gave me his card, he smirked and looked down while beginning to skeemishly laugh.

"what's so funny?" I examined while sticking his card in the machine.

"Oh, nothing more than the fact that you've already got a thing for your apprentice." he sighed out as if his little joke was funny. I unintentionally twisted my face and blinked at him in disbelief.

"Think whatever you want to think." I rolled my eyes at Riko annoyed. When his card finally went through, I passed it back to him and walked him to the front door of the shop.

But I might've told a little white lie.
