WARNING: BLOOD, GORE, VIOLENCE
"Some people believe in this kind of divine justice, an automatic revenge. I am some people. But I don't believe that Karma is somehow controlled by a supernatural power. Karma is a natural consequence of your actions. The relationship between cause and effect is as old as time, yet people still choose to believe that 'effect' is some kind of god."
-초성민 (Cho Seong-Min)"Life is unfair. Karma is here to fix that. And that was sarcasm, for your information. Yet she says sarcasm isn't good on me. Anyways, karma isn't always here. When 'karmatic justice' is served, it's a mere coincidence. And when it isn't, well, it just isn't. We all wish karma were here all the time but it isn't."
-박진성 (Park Jin-Seong)"The world moves on, another day another drama, drama. But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma. And then the world moves on, but one thing's for sure. Maybe I got mine, but you'll all get yours."
-Taylor Swift, "Look What You Made Me Do""From Areum? What'd she say?" Seong-Min looked over Jin-Seong's shoulder curiously.
"She said 'Nari is reformed now, and she wants to you to come over so she can voice her apologies in person.'"
"And you... believe that? Come on, Nari isn't Tyler1."
Jin-Seong snorted. "Maybe she is. Short and scary. Sound familiar?"
"When you put it like that, yeah, I suppose Nari and Tyler1 are really the same person. Seriously though, are you gonna go there? Looks like she sent the address too."
"I mean, why not? I love a good Tyler1 parody. And besides, she only wants to kill you. I'll be fine."
"I'm coming too." Seong-Min knew he couldn't change her mind on that no matter how hard he tried. Who knows what Nari could do to him?
Jin-Seong sighed, sounding exasperated. "Are you sure? Wouldn't that just make it... awkward?"
Seong-Min nodded. "Yep, I'm sure."
"Whelp," Jin-Seong shrugged and got up, "if you say so. Just- I don't know. Don't die." There was a hint of worry in his voice.
Seong-Min followed him out the door, grabbing the car keys that Jin-Seong had forgotten on the way out. Once they got to the car, Seong-Min started spinning the keys around her pointer finger with the keychain ring. "So, mister all-knowing, how are you planning on driving that thing?"
"God, you're so annoying. What would I do without you?" Jin-Seong grabbed the keys with Seong-Min laughing victoriously, and they drove over to the address that Areum had provided.
As she got out of the car, Seong-Min stared at the towering apartment building in front of her. It was grey concrete, with some parts painted cyan. Whoever decided on the, to say to least, lacking colour palette needed to be fired immediately.
Entering the dull, somewhat ugly tower, they were given a choice. One choice, that is, stairs. Seong-Min was unimpressed, to say the least. As they ascended the stairway, their footsteps echoing from floor to floor, Seong-Min complained about the stairs.
"I live in Seoul, and it's the year 2023. Yet I have to take the stairs up this ugly ass apartment building? Absolute," she panted, already tired out, "joke."
"Only one more floor, fighting!"
Seong-Min rolled her eyes, "this better be the stairway to heaven or something, I swear to god."
Reaching their floor, the two strolled over to Nari's door and Seong-Min knocked hard.
"Are you trying to scare her to death?" Jin-Seong sarcastically remarked.
