𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞. Probably because the adrenaline that the had because of the fight started to fade away.

Kaz had Fjodor on his knees, his arm still hooked around Fjodor's neck but Kaz didn't choke him. Instead his eyes were locked on Meadows side.

He didn't know or understood why that was what he was looking at. But every time he looked away he found himself looking back again.

"Well, well, well. Now who do we have here?" Fjodor taunted while scanning Meadows slim and small body. His eyes intensely looking at her.

Meadow stumbled over to the man. "Don't look at me like that you dirty bastard." And she raised the one dual sword to his face, right between his eyes.

But the movement made her side hurt even more so she quickly lowered the sword and tightened her free hand around the wound.

Fjodor snickered. "Oh dear, she is hurt. Your mother and father would be terrified to see you like this. But no worries, they will be watching from above." He said with a smirk lingering on his face.

Meadow felt shock and confusion about how in the saints this demon of a man could ever know her parents.

Kaz also felt the confusion after what Fjodor just said. He finally looked up from the wound and found Meadows eyes.

Meadow furrowed her eyebrows. "You don't know my parents. And don't mention them again. Or I'll slice this blade through your throat." She spat at the hideous person.

He simply stared back with one raised eyebrow. His brown hair sticked to his face because of the sweat on his forehead. He must've fought with Kaz before Meadow came in. His clothes were dirty and looked like they hadn't been washed in ages.

"Now, if you slice that blade through my throat," he nodded at the sword in Meadows hand. "who's going to tell the truth about your mother and father?"

Kaz sighed and rolled his eyes. He had met plenty of men like these before. They would say anything just to save their own arse. And Kaz despised men like him. "Lies." He said and pulled his arm tighter around his neck.

Fjodor's hands gripped at Kaz' arm. Trying to loosen the grip. "It's true! I knew your parents Meadow. You look like your mother."

Meadow gritted her teeth. Her parents had always been a touchy subject and always would be. "Stop talking about them!"

Kaz took that as a sign to tighten his arm even more. Now Fjodor couldn't get any breath at all. "It is true! The cabinet behind me! There's a letter. It is signed by your parents." He choked out due to the tight hold Kaz had on him.

Meadow frowned at that for a second. She didn't know what to even believe. This man could very much by lying to her. But as she looked at his pleading and wide eyes, she went over to the cabinet to see if there was a letter.

Meadow scanned everything on the cabinet. To her surprise she did find a letter. And she opened it to see what it was. Meadow quickly scanned the letter, not really caring about what it said.

But at the very bottom of the letter, there was something written that Meadow dreaded with all her might. Something that she wished she would've never seen.

Her mother's name. With her signature.

And below that her father's name. Again, with a signature.

And so the brutal murderer wasn't lying after all. He really did know her parents. "Stop! He wasn't lying." Meadow said immediately.

Kaz looked at her with a slight frown. Not wanting to believe that this murderer would be telling the truth.

Meadow sighed and stumbled over to Kaz. Who still choked Fjodor. She slowly raised the letter and showed him the names and the signs. Kaz of course, didn't recognise them. But Meadow definitely did.

Kaz slightly released his hold on Fjodor, but he didn't release him. And Fjodor gasped for breath. Because the tight chokehold Kaz had on him didn't grant him any.

"What do you know about my parents? And what in saints name is this?" Holding up the letter. Meadow asked bitterly, knowing that it wasn't going to be any good. And god, how right she was.

"Come on now, do you really believe that I could get an army this big together on my own? Of course I had help with that. Your parents, they were that help." Fjodor smirked. Knowing that continuing talking this way would make the young brunette break.

But he murderer continued, knowing that they would kill him anyway. "They were the brains after it all. Sure, I did some of the work. But it was all their idea. No wonder you're such a fierce lady. You've got it all from them."

Meadow felt her hands shake. The anger she felt towards him at that moment was indescribable. She had never felt so mad. She was livid. Not only at herself, but at her parents, at her grandmother and definitely at Fjodor Ivanov.

"I always knew you were gonna follow their footsteps. Just didn't know this literally. They walked here, you know? This is where we plotted all our raids and big fights."

This is where she snapped, she simply couldn't hold herself in anymore. She completely lost it, right here.

And before she could even register, she pushed Kaz away and stabbed Fjodor right through his back. So deep that the blade came out though his stomach.

This action would definitely have consequences. But Meadow didn't know beforehand. Sure, it would end Fjodor's life.

Only the biggest consequence would be on Meadows own sanity. What she didn't know was that after this she would go what some people describe as crazy.
