Once they finished cleaning, Branch walked Poppy back to her pod.
"Thanks for helping me clean up," Branch said with a slight smile.
"Anytime," Poppy replied, kissing his cheek.Poppy started to walk away, Branch getting nervous, as he tried to work up the courage to ask her something.
"Uh... Poppy?" he said.
She turned to look at him, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight.
"Yes, Branch?" she asked, smiling at him.
"Um... well... I... I... I... I was wondering..." Branch said, looking away, nervously, as he fiddled with his fingers. "If... you would maybe... like to... go out for diner tomorrow... or... or something..."
He looked at her, trying to smile, but it looked kinda wonky with how scared he was.
Poppy smiled at him, and then nodded.
"Of coarse, Branch," she said with a little chuckle.
Branch smiled for real at the sound of her saying yes.
"O... ok," he said, still a little nervous. "I'll see you tomorrow night then... at 7?"
"Sound good," Poppy said, turning to head back inside.As she walked through the door, Branch looked down, noticing he was still wearing the watch around his neck.
"Oh, Poppy. Your watch!" he said, taking it off, and holding it out to her.
She looked at him, and smiled.
"You hold onto it. You can give it back after our date tomorrow."
Branch smiled, and then nodded, putting the watch back around him neck.
"I'll keep it safe," he told her.
She smiled, and then headed inside.
"Yes!" Branch yelled out in happiness. "She said yes! Whoo!"
He looked at the watch, and smiled, remembering what Poppy had said. Their love... was timeless...
