     'Splash!'

The two trolls splashed down into the water, Branch floating just beneath the surface, as he clutched at his chest, in too much pain to move.

Slowly, he opened his eyes, seeing something shiny.

     It was his watch!

Using all the strength he had, he began swimming down towards it. All he needed to do was get it, wind it up again, and then he'd be fine.

But then... something caught his eye...

He looked over, seeing Poppy slowly sinking towards the bottom of the lake, unconscious.

His eyes widened, seeing her, and then, slowly, he looked back at his watch.

The hands where almost at a stop.

There was a choice to be made, but only one clear choice in Branch's mind.

He didn't question it. He knew exactly what he was going to do.

Without hesitation, he switched direction, heading towards Poppy.

Quickly, he grabbed onto her, swimming her up to the surface.

He gasped for air, immediately wincing in pain.

It took everything he had to keep both his and Poppy's heads above the water, but that's all he could do. He could no longer move. He couldn't force himself to swim Poppy back to shore.

"Ah..." he winced in pain, clutching his chest again, as he struggle to stay at the surface. He needed to find some way to save Poppy. Fast.

Quickly, he reached into his hair, pulling out a long piece of wood.

He put it into the water, so that it was floating on the surface, and then carefully placed Poppy on top of it.

Another sharp pain shot through his chest, causing him to scream, but he somehow managed to push Poppy towards shore, allowing her to float to safety.

Under the water, his watch was slowing down more and more, until it finally stopped.
