Kat paddled out to sea. She looked to the side, and saw a perfect 6ft wave. "There she goes folks! Fourteen year old Kat, bout to rip up the waves. "Concentrate" Kat told her self "if I can catch that wave, I can progress into a spin, get ahead on points, then work that new trick, headstand into a back walkover. My signature move." Kat was determined to beat Becky, even if it took an almost impossible move. She could do it though. She caught the wave and bent down on one knee. Her board turned, faster and faster. She put her hand in the water. The salt stung, but it slowed her speed just in time. The next wave roared over. Kat was ready. She rode it to the top, and rolled into her headstand. The crowd went wild! Kat smiled and looked over to where Jason was last standing, but he wasn't there. He was walking off with a blond, haired girl in a bikini top and jean shorts. Kat lost her focus. The board slipped from under her hands, and she fell into the water. "That's a heartbreaking score of 46 for Kat! Looks last like Becky wins the comp!" Kat grabbed her board and swam to shore, her head hanging low. The competition didn't mater anymore. Who was Jase with? Kat decided to ask her Marsha if she has seen him. She started home. When Kat's parents decided to work with Viola, they were asked to move down to continue work. Now, Kat had a house by the beach in San Diego, and Jase was her neighbor. "Marsha?" Kat asked "have you seen Jase!" "Yes, he is at the surf shack by the beach, Katrina?" Kat was gone. She sprinted Down the beach to wave K.I.S.S. "kiss" stood for, 'Kya's International Surf Shack.' Kat burst through the door, and looked around frantically. She spotted a group of kids, and all the girls were wearing bikini tops and shorts. Kat approached the group. "Jason?" She asked all eyes turned to her. "Well well well, if it isn't miss Katrina Gabriella" Becky stepped out In Front of the group. Kat gulped as Becky stepped forward. "So, how did the competition go? Never mind, they recorded it live and played it on the tv." She pointed to a television on the wall, that the live competition was being aired on. Kat was upset, but she ignored her rude comments, and turned to Jase. "What are you doing here?" She asked. Then it hit her. Hard. Becky was the blondie that Jase had abandoned her for. "Busted." A boy smirked. "Oh Kat." Becky put on a sweet face. "You can't hang out with Jase anymore. You see, Jase is my boyfriend now, and your his ex." She made and ex with her fingers. Kat ran. "Kat!" Jase called. She didn't care. She had to get away. Away from Jase, away from Becky. A few guys high fives Becky, as tears streamed down of her face.
