The judge called her competitors name. "And the yellow competitor is..." Kat held her breath. "Becky Marsh!" Kat wanted to scream. But she also wanted to beat her so... "Hey Kat." Becky said. "Can't wait to smoke you." "I wouldn't be so sure." Kat wasn't scared. The judge gave them a go sign, and they were off. The first wave was too small, but he second was perfect. Kat went in, but was not able to get the position she wanted in time. Becky was at a better angle. She rode the wave, and did something that made Kat hate her even more.

Becky used Kat's signature move. The headstand one. The judges were impressed, and Becky though she had outsmarted Kat. Not even close. Kat had already caught the next wave, and it was perfect. Kat rode to the top, and stood on one leg. Then, she reached back and grabbed her leg. It was the scorpion. Kat heard a huge cheer rise, but Jase and Alex were the loudest. Kat was still behind on points, so she took it to the next level. She put her foot down and carefully walked to the back of the board. She used all of her balance and strength to do something crazy. The crowd was silent as Kat completed the move. She had done a front flip. The announcer went wild along with the crowd. Kat was ahead, and with 15 seconds left, Becky was out of luck. "5...4..3...2" the crowd called. The buzzer went off. Kat had won. She rode a wave to shore and there she was greeted by her friends. A minute later, she revived a call from Mara. "KAT YOU WON!!" Mara screamed into the phone "YOUR GONA BE IN THE SURF CLUB!!!" The surf club! Kat had completely forgotten! She was so fed up with beating Becky, that she forgot the prize! Jase grabbed her and spun her around. Kat laughed, her wet hair flying behind her.

That night, Kat sat in bed, and watched her video over and over. It was all over the news! She was famous. This had been the best day of her life. She had two weeks before the beginning of the surf cub, and she had time to practice. Kat shut her computer down and pulled the covers up. She dreamed of the competition, how she had beat Becky. Her Mind was full of wonderful thoughts.
