Chapter 5

The next day brought a ray of hope. Kat woke early, and headed toward the beach. She sat in the sand, and waited for Mara. The day was hot, and a storm was supposed to roll in the next day, so the waves were huge! Kat couldn't wait to get going, but she told Mara she would wait. After about five minutes of waiting, Kat spotted two girls coming towards her. One was Mara, the other, Kat didn't know. The two girls arrived, and Mara introduced the girl who was with her. "Kat," she started "this is my cousin, Alex. She is spending this summer at my house, and she wants to learn to surf." "Hi Alex!" Kat was exited to have a pupil, and wanted to start right away." Alex was the same age as Kat and Mara, and had features similar to Mara. Her skin was light, and she had a few light freckles in her nose. Her hair was past her shoulders, and a light brown. Her most distinctive feature, was her eyes. They were big, brown eyes, and made her seem unexpectedly stunning. Kat loved talking to Alex. Their lives were somewhat similar. Both of their parents hated the beach, they both loved to idea of surfing at a young age, and they both loved Mara. The three friends decided to get going on the waves before they got massive. Alex was a natural. She learned everything extremely fast. After about an hour, Alex was almost as good as Kat! At the end of the day, the three decided to take a walk down the beach wile the sun was setting. It was the most amazing sunset Kat had ever seen, with an abundance of color. There was orange, pink, blue, purple, and a mix of all! The girls were hungry, and decided to grab a snack a Wave K.I.S.S. the shack was full of noisemakers, so the plan was, get in, get food, get out. It was easy to get in and get food, Kat had a granola bar, but the getting out was hard. They tried their best to find an exit, but it was almost impossible.
