'We prefer to think of ourselves as "high risk traders."' Suyin smiled wider. Maybe this is what she was looking for. An adventure. 'Soooo, why'd you take me?'
'For the looks of the stuff in your bag, you're rich as hell. We could kidnap you for ransom or something like that.' Suyin sighed sadly. 'It won't matter. My mom kicked me out of Republic City. She wouldn't want me.'
'Well, then we can set you free, but we're keeping this stuff.' The bald lady flung Su's bag over her shoulder. 'Hey! Wait! I can get you more where that came from!' Everyone stopped. 'How?'
'My grandparents live in Gaoling. You might know them. Has the name "Beifong" ever ring a bell before?' They all gasped. 'You're a Beifong?' Su nodded enthusiastically. 'That's right.'
The bald lady turned to her crewmates. 'Today, boys, we become rich! Richer than all of our loot combined!' Everyone cheered.
That night, Su knocked on her grandparents door. 'Hi. Can I see Lao and Poppy Beifong? They're my grandparents. I have nowhere else to go. Please. Tell them Suyin is here.' The butler nodded. After dinner, Su opened her room window and gestured to the pirates to sneak in. 'I know where they keep they're savings.' She whispered. 'Wait. Why are you doing this?'
'I hate my grandparents. They're too controlling over me. They should know that they can never hold me down.' Su said confidentially. They nodded and created a plan.
'Excuse me, guard. I need to find a bathroom.' Su watched as a KLANK! echoed through the hallway and the guard fell forward. Su moved out of the way and nodded at the bald lady. After hiding the unconscious guard in a closet, they crept into the vault. 'Uhh...' Su looked at all the guards stationed there. Before she could even blink, the pirates had taken them all out. 'Impressive.'
They escaped the mansion with sack of gold, money and other jewelry and jumped back on the boat before anyone noticed. 'This was fun, but I have to get going now.' The pirates tossed some money in her bag. 'Safe travels, Su.'
'You too!' She waved as the big wooden boat sailed away. She wandered through more villages and stopped at a crowd. A woman cartwheeled around while a platypus-bear balanced on a ball. She tapped on a man collecting money. 'Is there any chance I could join?'
'Any special talents?' Su smiled. She was more flexible than the lady she just saw and she easily proved it to the man. 'This is a traveling circus, right?' The man nodded. 'Perfect.' Su said.
