"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." 2 Corinthians 4:17

As I made my way up the path I barely saw the bouncing bright blonde curls rush up to me.

"CHLOE!"

I nearly fell over from the force of the hug. Great, just what I needed right now. My irritation was just growing more. I seriously didn't need to deal with her right now.

"Oh, where have you been?? You had me worried sick! Are you okay?" The questions just kept flowing. Did this girl ever stop talking.

"I'm fine," I said as I pushed her off of me and continued towards the main cabin.

"What happened? Did you wake up early? I was talking to you this morning trying to plan our day, but then Jennifer.. I think her name is Jennifer, anyway, she stops by my bunk and is all like 'who are you talking to', and I'm like 'what, my friend Chloe of course' and she looks at me like I'm crazy..."

My headache was growing worse and I was biting my cheek so hard I was starting to taste blood. Seriously, did this girl ever just shut up.

"... and I didn't see you at breakfast, and I was so worried, but then I saw you with Mr. Don and I was like 'that's weird' but at least you were okay. But I couldn't stop to chat because I had to get up with the horses. They were so cute and one nibbled my cheek. He had such a gorgeous flowing mane and tail..."

I finally reached the main cabin and gripped the front door handle. My knuckles were white from the force. Molly just kept chatting on and on!

"... then I saw you and I was wondering whether or not to say something, because I wanted to make sure you were okay..."

"MOLLY!!!" I shouted at her. Her eyes went wide and finally there was silence. But I was in a bad mood and I didn't want to be around this perfect girl with her perfect life.

"Do you ever shut up?" I asked. Her mouth slowly closed as she looked at me. "Please, just leave me the hell alone. Stop talking so much to me, stop following me around like a little puppy dog, stop trying to involve me in your stupid activities... just, stop. Comprende?" I didn't wait for her response before I snatched the door open and went inside. However, I didn't miss the tears that had filled those bright blue eyes.

I looked around for a Staff member. I finally saw one on the far side of the room. I should have felt bad for what I said to Molly, but I didn't care enough to care about her feelings. She has her stupid life, no need to rub it in my face all the time.

I reached the councilor and explained the bag of glass I was carrying and that I was supposed to help with dinner. He nodded and took the bag then said I could go right into the kitchen. I squeezed my lips into a thin line and started towards the kitchen after handing off the bag of broken glass. As I entered the kitchen I saw it was much bigger than I thought it would be. There were several stove tops, ovens, and two large sinks. In the very back was the dishwashing station. It almost looked like this kitchen belonged in a restaurant. I saw two older ladies, maybe late thirties, early forties standing on either side of the kitchen island. They were cutting up various types of vegetables and lettuce.

One looked up and saw me, "Hello dear! Are you Chloe?" The other also turned to look at me. The one lady talking to me had black hair that was tied up into a bun and brown eyes. The other had brown hair and brown eyes. Her hair was also tied back into a bun and it was covered by a white bandana.

"Uh, yea. Don said I was supposed to come help make dinner."

"Ah yes, he told us you were coming. I'm Gloria and that is Sharon," she motioned to the lady wearing the bandana.
