This chapter you are primarily speaking Japanese, so I'm NOT going to bold everything you or others say. I will announce this before every chapter that it occurs.

When I was fighting the Titans, I caught sight of the Cadets perched on rooftops in the distance. I knew they didn't need me—at least, that's what the brass would say—but I couldn't just stand by and let more of them die. So after I dropped off Andrew, I didn't waste any time. I headed straight for the rooftops where the Cadets sat, looking like they'd already accepted their deaths.

"Everyone up," I said in Japanese as my boots hit the roof with a soft thud.

"And who the hell are you?" someone snapped.

God, Reiner's seventeen. If he wasn't, I might've flirted—maybe just to break the tension.

"I'm a Captain from the Scout Regiment," I lied smoothly. Their eyes widened a little, a flicker of hope lighting up faces that had been dead a moment ago.

"Why are you here? S-Shouldn't you be out on expedition with the others?" Jean asked, rising to stand beside Marco.

"I cracked a rib during training—gear malfunction. Technically, I'm not even supposed to be out here," I said with a shrug. "But you all looked like you could use a little backup." Complete lie, of course.

"If it were up to me, I wouldn't have sent your sorry asses out here. You haven't even picked your Regiments yet," I added, shaking my head.

"D-Do you have a plan?" Historia—sorry, Christa—asked, voice trembling.

I nodded.

"Ackerman. Braun. Leonhardt," I called, and their heads turned. "You three are with me at the front. I've seen enough to know what you're capable of."

I stepped forward, scanning the area.

"Hoover, Kirstein, Bodt—you're in the rear. Cover our backs. Braus, take the left flank. Springer, you've got the right."

As I barked out orders, the Cadets began to move. Sasha stepped up beside Connie, drawing her blades with hesitation.

"Don't be scared. I picked each of you for a reason." I looked at them one by one—except for them, of course. Those two. Annie and Birth Control, I'll look at Reiner any day. I'm gonna have to ask what his age is after this, maybe I'm wrong.

"Let's move. Conserve your gas. Our job is to clear a path straight to HQ, don't stray away."

Mikasa was the first to launch off the roof, her gear hissing as she flew forward.

Of course she wouldn't wait. She never does. Dealing with her is like dealing with a slightly more emotional Levi—just as infuriating.

I'm the second to hop off, and I could hear everyone else following suite. The first Titan we came into contact with started making its way towards our flying figures. I shot ahead of Annie and Reiner as Mikasa shot past it, killing another Titan further ahead. My hooks make contact with its throat as it reached out for me. But, I was too fast as my blades came into contact with the base of its neck.

My arms tensed as I gritted my teeth, shouting. I ripped through its neck, the head falling off, and the body falling to the floor. My feet made contact with its shoulder, propelling myself off of it and landing in front of Annie and Reiner who was leading the group.

"Holy shit!" Reiner stared at me, wide-eyed.

"Language, Cadet." My gaze flicked toward Mikasa's falling form, already halfway to the ground. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
