Them Too

There's so much terror inside of me
I don't know if it's worth trying to hide you see
I can battle the days of sorrow and anxiety
But when empathy becomes apathy
My self love will go to play hide and seek

It's not right really
I'm not fine you see
It's okay to rest but when will I find the next high to be

I'm too young to be
I'm too hard to keep
Hard to believe that belief grows with grief
And not the branch of an olive leaf

My fight is a war
A battle with no swords
The soldiers are my screams
And tears in thoughts that I did forge

They ask don't you want it to all be over
And aren't you tired of feeling sober

Well fuck yeah I'm ready to leave
To separate myself in an age of greed
A world of disease we call a society

Where race is more than a shade of a color
And children are taken to be raised without mothers
Where death is a freedom and freedom ain't free
Where fists rise in chorus to the song "I can't breathe"

So yes let's split, let's hide, let's run, let's go
Leave the old men to find fault in weeds they did grow
Leave them to fight in uniforms to friends they made foe

Find our own destiny inside a country we've outgrown
