"I'm sorry," I said, looking up at the man. He seriously had the face of an angel. He had short, brown hair, and chocolate brown eyes.
"It's alright love," he said. "Just be careful next time,' he said smirking at me and procceding to walk away. I followed his steps with my eyes and Alexa came up to me.
"I was looking for you," she yelled, resting her hand on my shoulder. I was still looking over at the man, who went and sat at the bar with four other boys. He looked back my way and I snapped my attention back to Alexa.
"Who are you looking at?" Alexa questioned.
"Uh, nobody," I said, tucking my lips into my mouth.
"Oh, but seriously, that guy is checking you out," she said, nodding her head toward a man next to the one I bumped into earlier. I felt my cheeks get hot.
"C'mon Alexa, I have a boyfriend," I attempted to protest. The man she was looking at had shoulder length, curly brown hair, and had on a red and black striped suit. He motioned for me to go over there to the bar. I widened my eyes and looked around before pointing to myself and mouthing, "Me?" He smiled and nodded his hair. Alexa had already made her way over there and I didn't even notice. She wasn't with the boys though.
I squeezed my way through the crowd and found myself standing next to the man.
"Hello," he yelled over the music, still keeping that cheeky smile on his face, his dimples clearly visible, even under the strobe lights.
"Hi," I said, seemingly a bit too quietly.
"My name is Harold, but you can call me Harry."
"Hello..Harry. I'm Mia."
"Pleased to meet your acquaintance. What brings you here, love? You new here?"
"No, actually I'm on vacation with my friend," I said, pointing at Alexa who was at the end of the bar talking to some guy.
"How long are you here for?"
"Two weeks."
"Can I buy you a drink?"
"Uh, sure," I laughed.
"Lemme get two slimeballs!"
"A slimeball?"
"One of the best they have," he said winking at me.
"So you here with anyone else besides your friend?"
"Um, no.."
"You have a boyfriend?"
"Actually yeah,I do." My heart started to beat fast. I wanted to lie to this guy and say "No, I'm available, just take me home!" but I didn't want to hurt Alex. Then the bartender slid the drinks down toward us. Harry raised his glass and said, "Cheers to our newcomer," and he drank from the cup. I did the same and drank. It had a lemon-limey taste with a kick of vodka. It was good.
"This is good," I established.
"See?" I laughed and drank some more from the cup.
I looked down towards the end of the bar toward Alexa, who looked a bit wobbly. I turned towards Harry.
"Hey, I think I gotta go. My friend is uhh...drunk."
"Okay, but before you go, lemme give you something."
He grabbed the napkin from beside his cup and patted his chest, opening his suit jacket and digging through his pockets. He turned toward the guy I bumped into and said, "Liam, you have a pen?" So Liam was his name.
He pulled out a pen from his pocket and began writing something on the napkin and he handed it to me.
"Here's my number. Feel free to call. Now, get to your friend. I'm sure you wanna..watch out for her." Then he winked at me.
"C'mon Alexa we need to go," I said pulling her up out of her seat.
"Why," she whined. I'd never seen her like this before.
"Let's go. You're drunk."
"I'm not a punk!"
"No.. DRUNK, Alexa, DRUNK."
"Huh?"
"Just come on." Then we left the club.
