Godsbody was safe from Daedric princes for the time being. He knew he needed a way to protect his realm and that would mean creating new creatures to protect his realm and serve him. He could use the common Dremora for his basic needs. They are organized and loyal beings.
He could use other beings like Xivilai to protect vital parts of his realm, and maybe have some other creatures like the beast Clanfear patrol. As the demiprince of fear, he would need more creatures to scare mortals away.
He wanted his realm to be unique. Something both mortals and Daedra would fear. That could start with a new Daedra. Something no one as seen before. A creature that would strike fear into even the bravest warrior. Maybe something like the most feared Daedra. Like a combination of them.
Godsbody thinks about how he wants his realm to look and to function. He would need geared Daedra as his gatekeepers. Protectors of his realm but gatekeepers incase he follows Sheogorath's advice and make his realm the veil between Nirn and Oblivion.
He turns to one of his new Dremora servants. "There are so many Daedric races. Like you for example." The Dremora was a tough looking male. "Dremora. Strong. Loyal. Smart. I need something like you... but tougher, scarier and the potential to be feared by even other Daedric races. A colossus of immeasurable horror." Godsbody says.
"Perhaps a combination of creatures, my lord. Deadroths, bone colossuses, lurkers, Ruinachs are all feared. If you won't something more terrorizing then those, maybe combine them into one." The Dremora says, giving Godsbody his full attention.
"You're right. I don't just need a race that's terrifying, I need a creature that is strong enough to scare even Daedra. A combination of the most feared Daedra could do the trick." Ideas start brewing in the demiprince's mind as ideas of creatures go though his mind.
"Do you have an idea, my lord?" The Dremora asks, curios.
"Yes, I might have the prefect idea. A creature like the daedroths: Broad, strong and fire breathing. A creature like a bone colossus: boney, powerful, necromantic. A creature like a Ruinach: fire-resistant, four arms, with horns." Godsbody let's the idea set in. "That will be my personal guard, and the gatekeepers of my realm. That will be their true forms. They'll be able to manifest into someone's greatest fears, and that's why they'll be the Gatekeepers."
"That will be... terrifying." The Dremora says shaky. "A Daedroth, bone colossus and Ruinachs all in one. I wouldn't want to be face to face with one of those creatures, especially if they're angry." The Dremora shudders that the thought.
"They will be feared, and that's exactly what I need. They'll be strong, powerful and scary. The goal of purgatory is to purify. What better way to purify then to face unimaginable creatures that exploit your worst fears?" Godsbody says as the idea sets in.
"So..." the Dremora says. "This creature will be a bony large Ruinach daedroth cross that can exploit your greatest fears?" Godsbody nods.
"Leave me, while I create this creature. I don't need any distractions while I create my Gatekeepers." Godsbody says, and the Dremora walks away.
Godsbody holds his arms out. He can feel the Amulet of Kings resting against his chest. He can't feel the power within. He starts slowly drawing energy from the essence trapped inside the amulet. He imagines his gatekeepers in his mind, the same way he did with his realm.
He imagines the creature to every little detail. A few moments later, he opens his eyes to see exactly what he had imagined standing before him. The creature didn't move. Godsbody imagined that the creature would follow his every command, and that's what it would do. "Come," he says to the creature, and it does as he says.
He looks at the monstrosity before him. It was a cross between a daedroth, Ruinach and bone colossus. It wasn't exactly made out of bones, but it had thin skin stretched across its muscles. It was broad shouldered with an extra set of arms just like Godsbody. It had large claws that could rip though almost anything.
Godsbody smiles at the creature he created. "You're exactly what I wanted you to be." Godsbody whispers. "You're... perfect."
"Perfectly terrifying, that's for sure." Godsbody turns around to see exactly the one person he didn't think he'd ever see again. "Don't ask how I got here. Nysaiah has a way with Daedric portals." Godsbody smiles at the sight of the woman before him.
"Aranith... why are you here?" Godsbody asks, then remembers the creature is still there. He turns back to the creature. "Patrol the realm, I'll find you when I need you again, Gatekeeper." The creature does as he says.
"Because despite the anger you've made me feel, I don't think you're the bad guy here." Aranith says. "You might've killed Audret as well, but you had no other choice. It was either betray us, or get smited by Dagon. I understand that now, and I don't blame you anymore. Despite what Nysaiah says, I don't think she blames you either."
"That all might be true, but you shouldn't be around me, especially now. I have two angry Daedric princes after me, possibly three." Godsbody says the last part remembering how he betrayed Sheogorath and ran away.
"Come on, I just saw you make possibly the most powerful Daedric creature and you're scared of weakened Daedric princes? If you use all that essence in the amulet of kings, you could take both Dagon and Molag." Aranith says with a laugh. "When we first met, I knew from the start you weren't going to be a bad Daedra, and here you are stealing Daedric princes' essence." She says with a light laugh. "You're probably the most brave person I've ever met."
"Thanks, Aranith. I actually have a plan to stop them both. There's no doubt they're making a mess of Nirn right now." Godsbody says. "I should probably get back to the war."
"You're right. You've come a far way from where we were a while ago. You a frightened little Daedra, and me a frightened little girl. I just want to say that I'm on your side. No matter what Nysaiah says, I don't think you're the bad guy." Aranith looks down a little.
"Aranith. Is that why you're here?" Godsbody asks, a little confused by her kindness.
"No. I want to help you. I'm tired of running from Daedra. Nysaiah has just been leading me everywhere. She hasn't let me make a choice about what I want to do. Now I'm standing here in front of the Daedra that destroyed my home because I want a purpose more then running."
Godsbody just nods. "I don't think that's a good idea, Aranith. I don't want to drag you into a mess that I made. If you fight with me, you may never come out alive." Aranith crosses her arms.
"I know what I'm getting myself into. I have nothing else to do besides run. Nys made the choice to be around Daedra when she saved your life when you were a child. I made that same choice when I came to your house the day the Daedra came for you. Now I'm making my choice to do something about this Mehrunes-Molag invasion." Aranith pauses for a moment. "I will fight whether you like it or not, Godsbody."
"Fine, you can help. Get prepared for war, Aranith. I'll tell my Daedra that you're not to be messed with." Godsbody turns away to create more of his Gatekeepers.
