Keran and Lin Fan were having breakfast at a hotel when Keran's phone lit up with Shaking's message. Keran reached for the phone as she sipped some coffee. Not even a second later, she regretted sipping on that coffee because she choked as soon as she saw the picture.
"What's the matter, Keke?" Lin Fan asked.
"Look," Keran showed Lin Fan the picture. "Shaking sent me this."
Lin Fan squinted her eyes at the picture. It was a house covered in toilet paper. Lin Fan cocked her head in question.
"Why would she send you a picture of a mummy-themed house?" she asked. "Does she want to do this for Halloween- WAIT A MINUTE! IS THAT OUR FUCKING HOUSE?!?!"
Keran could only sigh and nod. Lin Fan's mouth fell open.
"Wow, those vandals have really gone overboard," Lin Fan scoffed, ears red with anger. "They've gone too far."
"I know," Keran sighed. "It's just... why? Why are they doing this? I mean, I was a teenager once. I know this rebellious phase all too well. Sure, I've done multiple graffiti doodles under flyovers with a few of my friends, but I don't think I had malicious intent to destroy private property."
Sensing her girlfriend's distress, Lin Fan reached over and held Keran's hand, drawing circles on the back of her hand with her thumb. Keran smiled gratefully at her.
Ding!
Keran and Lin Fan turned their heads simultaneously towards Keran's phone. When she saw that it was another photo from Shaking, Keran gave Lin Fan a weird look. Nevertheless, she opened her phone. This time she smiled.
"I knew Zhao Xiaotang wasn't useless," Keran smirked as she showed Lin Fan the picture. "She was actually able to grab of one of the vandals' shirt."
"Woah!" Lin Fan looked at the picture of the piece of cloth in awe. "She's really awesome! At least we have one clue now! Say, how did she do it?"
Keran looked at Lin Fan straight in the eyes.
"Li ba shan he qi gai shi," she whispered.
Lin Fan blinked slowly.
"Say what now?" she asked.
Keran coughed to redeem her dignity and waved her off.
"Nevermind," she said. "We probably should head back to the village to bust those vandals' ass."

What Keran meant by "we" was her, Lin Fan, and her secretary Wei Chen. When Keran dragged the poor little secretary out of the office, Lin Fan thought that she's never seen someone as caffeinated as Wei Chen.
"Wei Chen," Keran said as she lovingly slapped the girl on her back. "Say hello to my girlfriend, Lin Fan."
When Keran mentioned "girlfriend," Wei Chen let out a little squeak, which she masked with a cough. Lin Fan tried her best to seem amiable and waved at the girl.
"N-Nice to meet you, ma'am," Wei Chen stuttered and stuck out her hand, trying hard to impress.
"Nah, call me, Lin Fan," Lin Fan said as she shook her hand. "Keran told me you've been nothing but a great help to her these past years. Thank you for accompanying her."
"Oh, um," Wei Chen pushed her glasses up, dark circles prominent. "It's my pleasure. Thank you for the compliment."
"Wei Chen," Keran said. "I need your help."
When Keran mentioned "help," Wei Chen immediately shook of her sleep-deprived nerves and stood up straight.
"Wei Chen, at your service," she bowed and smiled. "What seems to be the problem?"
