I stayed scrunched up in the closet when I heard the door open. I became very still and I held my breath. My heart was beating fast. There in my living room was the man who was out to kill me.
He was wearing a dark, black ski mask. He was tall and slender. I watched him walk to the sink. He turned it on. I saw red stuff come off his hands as he washing. I then realized it was blood. Please don't throw up, please don't throw up, I pleaded myself.
After he was done he dried his hands and walk right next to the closet. I could feel my body trying to get air but I was not risking breathing with him this close.
I heard him pick something up so I carefully moved my eyes as if he could hear my eyes move. And there it was. My family's amulet and I gasped. Then my eyes grew wide and I covered my mouth. The man put the amulet down and went to the couch to pick up a knife. I'm going to die, I'm going to die, I'm going to die I'm going to die! I screamed in my head. Calm down, I told myself. Then he came to the closet and seemed to look me right in the eye and slowly turned the handle to the closet door.
