ALEXIS

I pulled my gun tightly against my straps. Sneaking out of the house was no easy feat. There are cameras everywhere, not to mention at least sixty guards positioned around the house. But, there was nothing near Mom's garden. The entrance wasn't easy to find, but once I did, it was an easy breeze from there.

I tiptoed across the garden and picked the lock on the other side. Smirking as the gate creaked open, I walked outside.

"Hey Max." I gave her a lazy smile, getting in the back seat.

"Hey baba, long time." I chuckled and reached over to give her a hug.

"Hey Andy, I heard you were banging Al's brother hmm?"

"I'm not banging him. We're dating." He whisper-shouted, obviously a bit shocked by her choice of words.

"So you're not going to bang him in, say, the near future?" Max asked, taking a turn.

"Shut up gorilla." I snickered. "What's the game plan boss?" Andy reached back and asked.

"Get the kids out of there. Fire after the auctioning starts and then blow it up. Don't let anyone escape."

"Sounds good." I nodded and told Max to stop three blocks before.

"So they're putting up a front as an ice cream shop for influencers?"

I snorted. "Ice cream and coffee dear Max. It's very posh." I said faking a British accent.

"Of Course Madame. I must say, they're doing pretty good for a front."

"Show me."

I took a burner phone out of her hand and scrolled through their instagram.

"God. I think it's the Germans. One of their smaller delegates, but one of them nonetheless."

"So we're changing the plan?" Max leaned over.

"No, the plan stays the same. It would be stupid to change it now."

I pulled out my small knife from my belt and cut the rope binding the door. André then made his move and picked the lock. Max went ahead and pushed the door open.

With our masks and gloves on, we walked inside. The door slowly creaked shut behind me. There were crates everywhere, a small number of them were ice-cream, majority of them being drugs.

"I'll go down. You guys watch for my signal from the top." Me and Max nodded as andré went ahead downstairs, to the human trafficking ring.

Max went up ahead as I kicked a couple crates aside in disgust. I can't fathom the thought of all the children who are drugged and taken away to be sold. To take a child or person from their loving kin is the most foul violence that can be inflicted upon all concerned.

Shaking my head I moved forward, only to stop when someone moved behind me. I turned around, to see no one there. Squinting my eyes, I tiptoed forward and landed a punch in the dark. Smirking when the person groaned, I flashed my torch in their eyes.

"Fuck, you have a mean punch." I rolled my eyes, "Aiden?"

"That's me. Help me up, will you?" I pulled him forward and onto his feet. "Who would've thought?"

"It's a human trafficking ring, they're selling children. It's sick and fucking disgusting, something we're both against. C'mon." He pulled me slowly towards the other staircase and walked up without a second glance. "You coming or what?"

I looked back and then texted Max. "I'm coming."

"So they store the children here?" I asked, wincing at how that sounded. "If you mean the kidnapped children who are soon going to be auctioned, then yes."

"I have nine cars at the exit, I'm guessing you have some planted there too. Let's get the children out of here and then to the authorities." He smirked at me and passed me three bullets.

"They're special, they will burst at impact. Use them wisely."

"Thanks." I never noticed he has dimples. Damien had dimples too.

I wish he was still here.

The children were safe and sound. Although they were visibly shaken up, no real harm had come to them. Max and Andy, the traitors that they were, had left me alone with Aiden. They claimed they had important stuff to take care of and had slipped away.

"I realized that I've only ever met you in the night. The first time we met it was midnight, then dinner, then when you ran off and now when we blew up a human trafficking ring." I chuckled.

"You're right, why is that?" He shrugged as we sat down on a bench. "Fate works in mysterious ways." He whispered. I shifted back and smiled awkwardly. "Бля. I'm making you uncomfortable aren't I?" I shook my head. "Of course not. You're great company." [Oh fuck: Russian]

He chuckled. "Are you alright?" He asked, looking at my pained expression. "Yeah, just something I thought of." Someone.

I wish you were here, Dame.

"You want to share?" I shrugged. "I doubt you want to hear about my dead and missing best friends." Aiden shrugged. "I'll listen whenever you feel upto sharing." Smiling half-heartedly, I rubbed my hands together.

"This is nice." He muttered.

I didn't think I was supposed to hear that, but I replied anyway, "Don't get peace like this often." His eyes crinkled with prominent laugh lines as he smiled softly, looking at the moon.
