Chapter 30

You guys quickly arrived at the department of records, you jumped out the car first, stuffing your hands into your pockets as you followed behind Lucio.

"Excuse me, you two can't be in here." A guard spoke.

"We're here for some information." You started.

"You have no clearance, you need to leave. Now."

Lucio chuckled, walking over to the guard, he picked him up by the throat and pinned him to the wall.

The guard chocked for air, clawing at Lucio to be let down while you just stood there, leaning against the main desk.

"It would just be easier to give us what we want." You sighed.

"I... I.. won't..." he chocked out.

"Okay, lets make a deal. You give me what I want, and I let you go. You don't give me what I want, and I snap this neck of yours. Your call, you've got three seconds."

The guard spluttered, still trying to get himself free.

"One." You said.

Again nothing.

"Two." You warned.

"N...no..." the guard growled.

"Three, times up." Lucio shrugged.

With a sickening crack, he dropped the guards body to the blood and begun rooting through his pockets, scattering items on the floor.

"What are you doing?" You asked.

"Looking for this." He said, holding up an ID badge.

"How far do you reckon it will get us?"

Lucio gestured for you to walk with him so you did, keeping an eye out for any more people as you went.

"I'm not sure really, should get us pretty far. But we need the ID badge of a normal worker."

"Well, I can freeze time and grab us one, it will be easier no doubt the heroes will storm this place pretty soon."

Lucio hummed, stopping for a moment before he nodded.

"Yeah, do it."

You froze the world around you once more, and the pair of you begun to wonder around the large building, opening different doors trying to find out way around, snatching random badges along the way up until you reached the large locked doors.

"Ready?" You asked.

Lucio nodded, and you released your quirk, allowing him to scan all the badges you had collected until you found one that worked.

Alarms sounded as the doors opened and you both cursed.

"Free it!" He called running in.

You followed behind, trying to activate your quirk but it wasn't working.

"It will not work! They must have released something to block quirks, you take one half i shall take the other."

You both headed to the row you needed, frantically searching for your last name, jumping between the shelves desperately trying to beat the guards.

"Hold them off!" You called.

"Sure! Be quick!"

You nodded and carried on looking, you jumped to the top shelve, searching up there and that's where you found it.

"I HAVE IT!"

"TAKE... THE WINDOW!" Lucio grunted out.

You watched him from where you were perched, he was fighting multiple guards, holding them back.

"GO! I'LL BE HOME SOON!"

You growled but ran off, throwing yourself threw the window, small shards of glass cutting your skin as you ran down the streets, guards on your heels.

"Stop!" They called.

Turning around, you stared at them all, their bodies freezing as they dropped their weapons on the floor.

"Your quirk becomes does not reach this far out."

With a flick of your wrist, you effortlessly tossed them down the street and carried on, Turing down an ally where you vanished from sight.

Reaching home was harder than you thought, but once you did you set the box down and begun to pace.

"I need to head back." You muttered to yourself.

Your hand hovered over the handle when the door opened making you jump back.

Lucio came stumbling in, he was covered in blood and cuts, he was limping and wincing in pain.

"Come on."

You wrapped an arm around him, helping him to the bathroom. You sat him on the edge of the tub and gathered some medical supplies, cleaning and dressing his wounds for him.

"The heroes are closing in on us."

"I am not surprised, they are good at what they do. How long do you think until they find us?"

He shook his head and sighed, shrugging lightly.

"Not long, maybe a couple of hours."

You nodded and left, letting him have the bathroom while you walked to the living room, turning on the TV as you opened the box
