Chapter 4

One Month Later...

As I split up from my friends, I returned to my thoughts from before joining up with them. I sighed and took my seat, waiting for class to start. I slouched and placed my elbow on my desk and rested my head on my hand.

Me and Kasumi still talk pretty often but I have been trying to figure out a way to spend some time with her beyond just that. On days where I'm by myself, Kasumi comes and brings me some of her homemade bread and we talk for a bit. The days I am by myself, I do it as my way of recharging my batteries since being social can be kind of exhausting, but when I'm with Kasumi, I don't have to worry about anything like that. Being with Kasumi is something that makes me happy. I really did end up falling for her.

As I continued trying to come up with something, someone approached me.

"Hey Y/n, you look like you're troubled. Any way I can help?" Ai said

"Oh hey Ai, it's nothing." I said before I realized that Ai's thoughts on this could be really helpful. "Actually, it's something that I'd rather not talk about in class. After club activities could you meet me in the courtyard? I just could use your thoughts on it."

"Alright. I'll meet you then." Ai responded.

After club activities for the day, I went and sat on a bench in the courtyard where Ai will be able to meet up with me easier. I waited around there until I saw Ai approach.

"Hey Y/n, what is it that you wanted my thoughts on?" she asked, joining me on the bench

"You're the first person I've talked to about this." I said, "It's about Kasumi."

"Hm? What about Kasumi?" Ai asked

"The truth is that I've fallen in love with her." I said "I just thought since you're a girl too, it'd help me figure out how to tell her if I heard your thoughts."

"Really? I'm happy for you but I didn't expect this is what you wanted to talk about." Ai responded

"Well I really love Kasumi. She's so cute, sweet, and lively and every time I'm with her is so much fun." I said

"I don't really have any experience with relationships myself, but I don't see why you don't just tell her what you told me." Ai said

I was about to explain why when I realized that I didn't have a reason why not. "Fair enough, but are you really sure that's enough?" I asked

"I'm sure hearing you say that would make her happy. If someone I was close to said that to me, I would be happy." Ai answered "Whether or not she returns your feelings is another thing though."

"Right..."

"Still, I hope it works out between you and Kasumi." Ai said

"One more thing, I'd like to maybe spend an afternoon or something with her before I confess. Do you have any ideas for something we could do?" I asked

"Well-" Ai started to say before being interrupted by my phone starting to ring. I picked up to see it was Kasumi calling me.

I answered and said "Hey Kasumi, what's up?"

"Hey Y/n, I was walking home and I found a cafe that, from looking inside, looks like the type you said you like to go to. Do you want to maybe come together this Sunday?" Kasumi said

"Oh really? Sure that sounds great, what time?"

"How about we meet at the station at 2:00?" Kasumi suggested
