A brief Author's Note before I start this:
Once again my apologies for the lapse in time between this update and the last.
As stated before I have had other projects and college work.
Anyways the point of the author's note is to acknowledge when I started writing this I had no idea what college was like.
I didn't know how classes worked and all that. And so I find it funny I decided it worked like high school.
Which is just so wrong lmao.
Anyways.
I believe I made it February/March in the last update?
Also I generally try and hit 1000 words per chapter, and this author's note doubles as  way to boost the word count lmao.
Love you all hope you enjoy

What is one to do when she feels intense guilt and feels responsible for the ending of a relationship and hurting a friend?
Bury those feelings deep down.
Super deep.
Unhealthily deep.
As much as those feelings burned Mikasa from the inside out, she couldn't do anything to address them now. Midterms were coming up and stress took up most of her mind.
She didn't have time to worry. She had to focus on studies.
And as much as she was Annie's roommate and girlfriend, the women were often out of the dorm studying in the library or some other building or doing homework.
Fucking college classes didn't let up the work even during midterms for some godforsaken reason.
Even though the classes she was taking were all just general education, they didn't let up on the coursework.
And Mikasa had to think about what her major would be.
Sure she had until sophomore year to do that. But she just didn't know. Kinesiology seemed cool, but did she really want to study exercise? It was a hobby and a thing to pass time. And career choice was limited. Would she become a PE teacher?
Millions of thoughts racing through her head at millions of miles per hour.
She and Annie did promise to go on an official first date after midterms.
-
When Mikasa had heard her older family members and friends talking about midterms and finals, she had never understood why they were talking about it in fall and winter and spring.
Of course now she knew better. And here she was in the middle of her algebra midterm, stressed out of her mind. She did good in this class in high school but damn her memory of it must be wrong because she felt lost in the college course.
Her leg bounced as she stared at the paper in front of her.
"How the fuck do I foil this equation?" She muttered, twirling the pencil in her fingers.
She glanced at her classmates.
Sasha was chewing on her pencil, looking lost and like she was about to be sick.
Mikasa saw a boy a few rows back just straight up crying.
She returned to her test.
-
"If I think about algebra ever again I want you to kill me." Mikasa said to Annie, from her bed.
Her girlfriend made a muffled noise of affirmation.
"Thanks babe."
Another muffled noise of affirmation.
-
Midterms were over, the weather was clearing up late in winter, students were sleeping in and all was well.
"It's finally warming up." Mikasa said, considering a white t shirt and jeans for her outfit for the day. "You think it's gonna be nice enough for a date?"
Annie was tying some flannel around her waist and looked out the window as if to weigh her option.
"Yeah. See, some people are wearing t-shirts and walking around. I think I see some folks playing cards in the courtyard." She squinted. "You have anything in mind Mikasa?" She turned to her girlfriend as she was putting on her shirt.
"Mmm. Movie date? What's out now?" She said as her head poked out of the top and she smoothed her hair. "Horror? Action?"
Annie pulled out her phone and did a google search.
"Hmm. Ready Player One? Pacific Rim? Tomb Raider?"
"Tomb Raider sounds cool."
Annie shrugged.
"Sure."
"We could also do a picnic date?"
"Sounds nice."
"I would appreciate some commitment to one of more if the ideas Annie."
"I'm an indecisive girl!" She threw up her hands. "Sue me!"
"I'll see you in Lesbian Relationship Court. I'm the bisexual I'm supposed to be the indecisive one here!" Mikasa threw a pillow at her face.
Annie caught it.
"Okay! Okay! Damn!" She chuckled.
-
Mikasa and Annie were on a hill overlooking the lower half of Rose College campus.
Both were doing their best to not shiver in the brisk 44 degree weather, though it felt much better than the previous weeks weather.
"Fucking Pennsylvania weather." Annie said through gritted teeth.
"Fucking Pennsylvania weather." Mikasa agreed, and pulled Annie into her side and wrapping her arms around her blonde girlfriend. Together they warmed up.
"Thanks." Annie snuggled in. "Gonna be difficult to eat like this."
"Well I'll let you go." Mikasa said, poking her nose.
"You better not get between me and my food."
A few dirty jokes crossed Mikasa's mind before she spoke again.
"Wouldn't dream of it." She planted a kiss on the back of Annie's head.
Together the two women chatted about whatever came to mind and cuddled for a while. They ate their food and people watched their fellow students walking around the campus. And it was almost like the cold didn't exist around them. They were in their own dimension without a care in the world.
"Thanks for the date."
"Why are you thanking me? I only agreed to this, you planned it." Annie cocked an eyebrow.
"You could have said 'no Mikasa I want to stay in and have a different date', but you didn't."
"I'll choose the next date then? Is that what you want me to say?"
"No—! I—I don't know what I want you to say." The Japanese woman rubbed her face with a heavy sigh. "I'm just awkward okay?"
"Bitch me too."
The girlfriends locked eyes and laughed before Mikasa planted a big kiss on Annie's forehead.
"God I love you."
