The affection shown between two childhood friends is ever-lasting, even if one of them moves at a faster pace then the other.
I could tell that everyone had fixed their gaze upon me.
There was now quite a bit of whispering moving throughout the entire Meadow, and all I could make out every few minutes was; "What does she think she is doing?" And "Is he mad?! "
But to be fully honest, none of it bothered me in the slightest.
Saria made the first move after a few tense minutes.
She slowly let go of me, and with a big smile on her face, started to engage a conversation.
"I-I don't believe it, I can't believe it..."
I hold up her chin and look deep into her eyes.
"But you know it's true."
She pauses, and eventually starts to smile.
"Yes, I suppose I do, don't I... "
I silently nod.
"Wow, this is all too much...I come to the Meadow told some uninvited guest found their way into the forest, and when I arrive...who do I find but you, sitting on my stump..."
I laugh.
"Your stump? I thought it was our stump..."
She just giggles, clearly still in shock.
"Fine then, OUR stump."
I shake my head happily.
Saria shots everyone nearby an assuring smile, before turning back to me.
"So...I know this is coming out a bit...strange, but...if you don't mind me asking..."
I have a hunch what might be coming.
"Yes, what is it?"
She looks down at her feet, trying to avoid eye contact with me.
"Well...I just wanted to know..."
Taking a deep breath in, she finally blurts out;
"What in the name of Hylia happened to you? You're so tall, and grown up! I hardly recognized you! "
I let out a depressing sigh, and noticing my reation, Saria quickly calms down.
"I'm sorry Link, it's just -"
I hold up my hand to silence her.
"It's fine, really. I get that a lot..."
We both smile in an awkward fashion, then each let out a deep sigh.
For a few seconds, there was complete silence.
In the large crowd of kokiri gathered around us, a certain someone was sitting very uncomfortably, clearly annoyed.
It was only after a few moments though, he popped the question I had been dreading.
"Okay, Is anyone gonna to explain what is going on!?"
Everyone turned to direction of the voice so see who had spoken up.
It was Mido.
