|day before the first day of sophomore year|

WALKING INSIDE THE SCHOOL Annalise headed towards the locker room, tired after lacrosse practice. Opening up her new locker she grabs her bag out and changes out of her sweaty lacrosse jersey and puts on a white tank top and Nike shorts. Using the mirror on the locker door she makes her ponytail into a messy bun atop her head. Reaching on her tiptoes to the top shelf of her locker she grabs her locket, putting it on as she hears high heels walking her way.

"Nice job today Anna" Anna pushes her locker shut to reveal Lydia leaning against the lockers, checking herself out in a handheld mirror.

Anna adjusts her lacrosse bag on her shoulder and sighs, "Thanks Lydia"

"So, made any friends since you moved here, or are you sticking to your lone wolf vibe?" Lydia rudely asks.

"There are some nice girls on the lacrosse team, I think I will end up with more real friends than you." Anna retorts.

Lydia scoffs, replying, "Whatever, just remember, I am the one everyone knows here. I can make your move to Beacon Hills a living hell so just stay out of my way and don't mess with me."

Even though Anna didn't get the last word in, she was glad her annoying cousin was gone. That girl found a way to annoy her constantly. Lydia clearly did not like Annalise.

They used to be good friends as kids, always hanging out with their grandma during school breaks and going up to the family cabin. The girls were heart broken when their grandma passed. Anna had always said she could still feel her grandma's spirit at the cabin. She and Lydia even confided in each other that they thought they could hear her screaming sometimes.

Even after their grandma passed, the girls would go to the cabin with their parents. However, since the summer before middle school, Lydia decided she was too cool to go play with her cousin at the cabin. Lydia thought it was more important to hang out at Beacon Hills and neglect Anna completely. Anna never really cared about the change, until she found out she was moving to Beacon Hills this summer.

Anna had moved to Beacon Hills a little over a month ago with her Dad. Before that, she had lived in Outerbanks, North Carolina since she was born. In North Carolina, she had played lacrosse and surfed. She was always hanging out with her friends and was sad when she found out she was moving across the country.

While walking out to her car, Anna pulls out her phone and calls her Dad, John Griffin. He answers, "Hey Anna Banana, how was the open practice?"

Anna chuckles slightly at the childish nickname her Dad still uses for her. "It was good, I think this is going to be a really fun team. Are you home yet?"
